How many DSMs do you see on the road

Besides mine, I never see any 1g's around North-Denver. I see a few 2g's from time to time, and getting even more scarce lately, but they look like GS models.
Amazing how often I get some type of compliment since I DD a 1ga. I've almost come to expect it. Nobody ever hates on it unless I'm pulling away from them (looking at you, F150s).

I live 30 minutes away from Nissan North America headquarters. Because of that, I see all the cool Nissans on the regular. GTRs, Skylines, Sylvias, new and old Zs, etc. Buuuut, Mitsubishi headquarters is right next door and there are virtually no older Mitsubishis on the road. I get comments and compliments every time I drive mine.

I haven't seen a 1g or 2g around here in at least 4-5 years. Absolutely no 1g's but occasionally I spot a 2g. The last time I saw that car, it was on the side of the road, waiting for a wrecker, as it appeared dead.

I’d be willing to bet I saw you last summer sometime on I-25 southbound thru Denver, I saw a red 1ga in the fast lane just cruising , I was headed to Pueblo to meet up with my in-laws, it would’ve been a Saturday, I don’t remember the exact month

Possible but I try to avoid I-25 anymore. I used to commute to south Denver and it was miserable.

I rarely drive mine because I guess I just like more comfortable and quieter rides (getting old I guess). But sits mostly due to running purely on E85 and not too many gas stations near me. Seems like it tends to leak fluid the more it sits .
Goal this year is to drive it more... Just got fixing a few leaks and deleting the heater hoses... less leaks and I dont drive it during the winter. Plus hard driving one car when I have multiple cars to choose (too many project cars)... I guess not a bad dilemma haha

Many years ago, when I used to drive mine, it would cause a stir in the local DSM FB group.

I too plan on driving mines more as well this year, the few times I've been in the car at idle recently, I feel like "wow this car sounds and feels aggressive " as if I somehow, I forgot who built it (me). Getting old makes you forget.

It's been my experience shows that most older/seasoned Honda owners started off in (or at some point landed in) Mitsubishis and similar platforms, but shifted over to Hondas for reasons like parts availability and parts pricing. I'm in that exact scenario myself. I currently own nothing but Hondas, while there was a day that I owned nothing but DSM's. Those brought an unforgettable and irreplaceable experience, however the Hondas I play with can bring an equal reward for far less of the inconvenience.

Even though that's ever so slightly off topic, just never doubt the ability of a Honda owner/driver to recognize or appreciate any DSM. There are many others like me, and some that I know personally. DSM's were a serious vibe for any gearhead that can be considered at least vintage in the game. We may run around with F/H/K/B series engines,
: but 4g's, 6g's and 42X's were all the talk one day.

Much love to both communities. DSMTuners will never lose it's place in my heart; oh so dear. But the Honda platform and (some of) the community are almost as dear.

None, because jack stands aren't allowed on the road obviously. It's weird that DSMs disappeared. Yes there will be attrition on the cars that get driven year-round and abused, but I would've thought the well-kept cars would have survived and/or stayed around. That doesn't seem to be the case. Seriously, I don't think I saw any DSMs last year (other than a 2G Spyder at the junk yard), hoping a bunch are out this summer. There used to be ~10 Evo 1-3s in the city as well, but I think we're down to 4 at most, and most of those don't even see the road much.

I drove mine through a bigger town last Friday and I felt like I was actually important for once. People were staring, it was pretty awesome to say the least. These cars are so timeless. I can't wait to cruise more.

Drive my 93 Tsi year round. Almost daily. Most people don’t even know what the car is. Sometimes get older people male or female at gas stations will walk up and say they had one brand new. How they miss the car. I’ll ask it was awd turbo. Most say yes. Few say fwd turbo. So figure new, the cars appealed to 30 ish age range plus. Often the most random of people. Most recent was a brand new Mercedes’ 550S. At light guy puts down pass window. Waves. Head nod. Wearing a suit. Says those are awesome cars. Then window went back up and light changed.

Not sure if this counts since they technically were not on the road but I lived in Lawrence KS for a couple years and in my neighborhood there were 2 2g talons in driveways about a block away from each other. Was walking my dog and stumbled across them. 2gb talon awd manual in green had my jaw on the floor. Black talon was an auto turbo car.

Also saw this 1g N/A at a local shop getting some work done a few months later. Still don’t see very many on the road just driving around. Did have 3 2g DSMs show up unplanned to a local cars and coffee this past weekend here in Denver

Saw a clean looking purplish/plum colored 97-99 last Saturday. Couldn't tell if it was turbo, AWD, or Oz anniversary edition (it was in front the next lane over w/no badges). Lowered, aftermarket wheels and exhaust Wife and daughter didn't get my excitement. My wife did mention how shiny it was, probably because mine has dents, faded clearcoat and peeling paint on the roof .

I have to say, I get excited seeing ANY 90s car on the road nowadays. I was excited when I saw one of those 94 style GrandAms on the road the other day. It was mint and almost looked brand new. I was stunned. I imagine peeing my pants if it was a DSM. That's how rare they are becoming these days. It def keeps me motivated to get mine drivable. I don't think it has been driven on a public road in OVER 11 years.

Well a couple days ago I measured .007-.0074 (it spiked then relaxed pretty quick.. not sure why unless the speed of change in clutch pressure plate and fork movement caused the engine to shift ever so slightly towards the driver side).
Smacked (gently) the crank back towards the left, retested today and got between .006 and .007.

Just gonna send it and check every so often. No other choice, the numbers aren't bad enough to strip anything down. Waiting on some suspension parts now too but by mid May I should be up.

I'm also moving into automotive event photography so I need this car to rep at shows/meets. Will I take it to Gimli? Maybe.

I spotted a white 2Gb Talon in the wild the other day. Definitely a TSi, not sure if AWD though. I also saw a red GSX a few weeks ago. Odd because I haven’t seen any around here in over a year, now I saw two in the same month.

since making this thread i have spotted a couple 1ga’s in peoples driveways. Pretty crazy how the universe works. Still have not seen any running on the road though.
