a few people have requested pictures and or plans regarding my old Supercharger set up on my 4g.. (mods if this thread needs to be moved to correct section please do so..)

this may clear some things up, i have lost alot of detailed photos due to a HD getting currpted but i can answer anyones question in regards to the set up...

the supercharger used was an Eaton M45 from a Mercedes C200 Kompressor

any questions just ask... i would suggest building everything on a spare engine, it makes things alot easier..

warning: i wont be held responsible if you blow your s*#t up :p

extractors/headers to cope with the boost: (i just recycled my old tri-y's and turned them tuned length)

150 kw is not bad. And the lack of lag is probly nice :)

Here's what we are doing. Just a sneek preview. When it's ready will create own topic because don't want to hijak your thread. There are differences design wise. It's more like a turbo design in terms of intake. Hopefully we can collaborate if we have some questions. It's nice to have somebody to ask ;)

thats a great set up, only concern i would have with that set up is heat transfer from the s/c to the intake mani (they can get bloody hot), and the pipe diam that goes to the intercooler and back to the throttle, would have to be set right to get almost no lag...

but it looks good so far, keep me up to date on this..

also does it clear the starter? and is there enough space for the in/out ports on the S/C?

Thank you! I appreciate your input. It has never been tested on a tranny, but I am sure it clears the starter it will also keep the AC :)

Regarding the heating issue - that mey be a PITA. I will tell my friend. We will have to think of some heat shields/barriers

one more thing.... that pulleys too big :p

id also suggest getting the flow VS heat charts for the S/C, makes guess work later on easier....

nice job! I wish I had some pics of the mutant my brother made a few yrs back. He took the motor from a 99 pontiac grand prix gtp, made a custom mani for it and slapped on a supercharger off an '03 cobra mustang LOL this thing was pretty much as big as the whole V6 gtp motor LOL, and to boot, he dropped it into a geo tracker!! the looks on peoples faces was priceless when they hear tires screaching, a supercharger whining and nothing but a POS geo tracker going ripping by LOL

Very nice work. Next step would be to create an 8-rib crank pulley to match the blower's pulley and to save belts :)

Pretty cool for sure - Ive always had this thought in the back of my mind but not sure if it would be practical - any way to mod this to also use turbo - similar to a twin turbo but use the sc for initial spin up and tc for upper end.
