I have a 98 eclipse gts with a 4g63 It has a bigger turbo (t25) but I'm running stock boost until the motor is broke in. I tested it for boost leaks and the only place im loosing air is through 2 oof my injectors doesnt sound normal to me. It runs fine until it starts to boost then it pegs my wide band all the way to 10 and just dumps out white smoke. I pulled th he spark plugs and they were bunt white like it was burning lean. Ive tried everything but with no succsess. Its a brand new motor just rebuilt and its not using oil or coolant. It will smoke and bog before I even reach 5 pounds of boost. Any ideas I would really like to get this car going. And im scared to try and drive cause I have alot of money in it.

Ok. Hang on. Do you have a GST? Or a GSX? It's not going to make too much of a difference for this question since it's the same motor, but I'm cofused. And the T25 is not bigger than stock, it IS stock. It might be burnt up and just burning coolant perhaps? What's the smoke smell like? White smoke is generally coolant. But smell it anyway. I would also try a boost leak test to make sure you have no leaks to account for why you're bogging down.

Your profile say gsx,but your post say gts( maybe typo gst), anyways stock turbo is t-25. when I swap my turbo I have burnt smell also for a bit. Make sure your not low on oil and coolant. white smoke generally is coolant..

Sorry that was typo im using my cell phone to do this so its hard. Its a gsx but its not a stock t25 its aftermarket. It had a 16g on it but it was blown. The guy who owned it before me was an idiot so im not even sure of much. I do know that its a 4g63 with a t25. It has a Greddy bov and a shitty external wastegate but I have a hks external wastegate coming. The shop that built it said that it was smoking because it was burning waay rich and it reaks of fuel so I would assume but im not sure.

Just checked all the fluids and everything is still good :/

Do you have a check engine light on? I think it almost sounds like a bad o2 sensor not reading right and it's dumping fuel OR you're venting your BOV to the atmosphere and you're running rich because of not enough air and too much fuel. I would like to see a picture of your engine bay please. :)

My cel is on but its just for the rear o2 sensor heater. And I am venting to the atmosphere but my guy told me that it would be fine, is it not?

It is not. To vent to the atmosphere you need proper tuning a Gm MAF of a MAF translator. Recirculate the BOV ASAP.
Whoever told you that needs to be kicked in the nuts. LOL

Well... it's like this. Your MAF is reading the incoming air from the air filter, okay? So the computer is compensating for that air with a fuel mixture to even things out. Now.. from the factory, all that air is recirculated, so the computer is only compensating for the incoming air, okay? When you vent your BOV, you're releasing air that's already been accounted for, and had the fuel mixture for, so if that air disappears, you have more fuel than air. Does that make sense? You need to get the adapter for your Greddy BOV so that you can recirculate the air back into the system.

It should help. If it doesn't completely fix the issue, you have another problem elsewhere.

Ok thanks for help sorry I cant get the right info its my first dsm so im kinda new to it all

Alright so I recurculated the bov and am still having the same problem. It doesn't smoke at all till I open the throttle more then have way or I hit boost. As soon as I do either my wideband reads 10 and it starts pouring it out. I tested for boost leaks again and the only place I lose air is from the middle 2 injectors and my oil cap because it's going bad. Is that normal it doesn't seem like it is to me. I'm stumped. Also my turbo doesn't have nipple to run to the waste gate so I'm not completley sure how to run my vacuum lines. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
