i have a 95 talon, no engine or tranny. i have been doing all sorts of research on these motors (7bolt 2g) seems like a lot of people dont like the idea of installing them into any car that needs a motor because of crank walk. my questions are pretty straight forward. since i already have to get a motor, should i try to get a jdm 7bolt? i need a tranny and transfer case too. but once again i have been reading the forums and i have found guys saying that the Japanese motors have different final gear ratios then the US 2g dsm's. i have found motors from numerous JDM suppliers like sunrisejdmmotors.com has a JDM 4G63-GTE Dohc 4 Cyl. 16 Val. Turbo Mitsubishi Eclipse / Talon 95-98 that comes with Transmission 5-Speed AWD - Transfer Case - Turbo - Intake Manifold - Exhaust Manifold - Throttle Body - Alternator - Starter - A/C Compressor - Power Steering Pump - Clutch - Fly Wheel - Pressure Plate. this would work awesome for me because i have nothing other then a t25 with shaft play, 2g intake manifold, ac compressor, who knows if its good and full exhaust from manifold back. please let me know what options i have. im in colorado so if anyone lives here can help let me know. I am willing to spend around $2000-2500 to get the thing running. im not to concerned with performance for now, stock will do, i just want the damn thing to move for now!
 
Ok so the intake cam is the only difference? Ports, flow, bolt patterns, lifters and such are all the same from na to turbo head 2g?

the differences from the 4g63 nt to the turbo are as follows:

Turbo is 7.8:1 compression, non turbo is 9.0:1
The non turbo pistons have a smaller ring land for the 1st compression ring
The non turbo intake manifolds DO NOT have the extra nipple for the BOV
The non turbo T/B has shaft seals that DO NOT have the metal ring in them where turbo T/B's do
The non turbo cams are different on the exhaust side
The non turbo intake cam is different with the car is auto
The non turbo block DOES NOT have the oil squirters
The non turbo block DOES NOT have a knock sensor, and the location for one to thread in is different
The non turbo uses smaller 240cc (turbo injectors are 450cc) HIGH IMP. injectors
The non turbo DOES NOT hold up to boost for long above the 8 psi range ( I saw someone say they're running 30+ psi... I'm not calling you a liar, I'm just giving my experience with the cars that I've converted from 4g63 non turbo to turbo).
The non turbo cylinder heads have the oil tap for the turbo feed blocked off, but it is there and functional once the plug (17mm bolt) is removed.
The exhaust manifolds are obviously different
The non turbo oil filter housing *** supposidly *** has a higher pressure spring in it, I have not personally tested this yet though.
The non turbo oil pan DOES NOT have the oil return in the pan (another obvious difference)
1990 cams are the worst, turbo, auto, non turbo, or whatever, they just suck

I'm sure there are other differences but I'm tired and can't remember them right now.
 
Thank you gentlemen y'all are great helpers to my slightly stupid questions. I'm going to try to get a all factory 2g turbo head and have it gone trough by a machine shop. For now I will probably leave the head all stock. Unless I can find someone selling a tricked out one in my price range.
 
Get a cheap bare head from someone on here, get new valve seals and a set of Delta cams and you're good to go.
