hi, i wona upgrade my turbo on the gsx, and there is so many choices dont know which one to buy, so i asking you pepz wich turbo is best for under 1k for street/strip setup thanks,
 
DO IT RIGHT THE 1st TIME. Go with a real evo 3 16g, 2g install kit, injectors, fuel pump, and something to control it. Im not including all the other little given bolt ons such as exhaust,wideband, and so on. Then you will need a front mount to make any kind of significant number because the lil side mount gets heat soaked. As far as 350 goes you are going to spend about 3 times the money you expected....or at least i did. Then when your car does start making any kind of power you will have to replace all of the old parts that will begin to break. Oh yeah and dont try to go out of control with the boost. So many people kill their cars because they make mistakes an informed person wouldnt. Get close with your local dsm shop and people. Have fun and good luck.

he is not lying about the boost and parts. even a 16g or evo3 like my car boosting 22 psi is a issue getting a nice set point and way you can run your engine and not destroy the turbo is a night mare. I though mine was gone 2 days go but i just broke the pin of the waste gate. horsepower aint cheap to come by in these cars so find a good mechanic if your not one to help with your build.
 
Ok heres the deal I am currently in the process of building a track car. I am building a 6 bolt motor w/ fully built ported and polished 1g head, 272's, afpr,bosch 044 fuel pump, ss -8an lines, dsmlink, gm maf, eagle/ross combo, stock crank, etc. I need to know what you guys think on what the best turbo would be for this particular setup. Oh no bolt on turbos..
 
I dont wanna be an ass, but I am personally not able to use the word cheap along with 650hp..

Anyways from what i've heard a GT35R would do the job.

If you mean a t67 then yes that will. There are better turbos out there though. The 40r will spool the same and make more power. The 42r will spool slightly slower but make more power then either of those. A few people that have used a t67 then went to a 42r say the 42r actually spools the same or faster then the t67 did. Andrew (super95awd) said that and a few people on dsmlink forums have said it.

To the original poster. Do you care if it is ball bearing or not. Ball bearing wil add a good amount of money you have to spend. And if you are using it for drag racing there is no advantage to a bb chra over a journal bearing really.
 
2.4 stroker block built to support over 800hp.. which turbo is the best for around 1300 bucks, minus header and such..
opinions ?
 
thats the exact one im going to be buying on monday .. just wanted some other imput before i went with it .. punishment- racing has the whole kit for 2250 shipped..
