best MBC for your buck? [Merged 9-9]

A friend of mine is looking to get a MBC for his GST. I told him electric is the way to go, but he doesnt want to spend a couple of hundred dollars on one. I'm not too, too familiar with MBCs so which would you all recommend. Remember, he really doesnt want to spend too much money on one, but wants one that will do the job.

he asked about the $30 or so dollar ones from ebay, those any good?

Hallman Pro Manual is the only way to go. I have never had a problem with it at all and neither has anyone of my buddies. My buddy is running 35 pounds and his still holds up.

Joe P MBC is the best MBC in my opinion. The price isn't too shabby either.

Cant beat it. They are simple and reliable as can be.

EBC's have more options that can allow you to tune the spool-up etc using map sensors and processors.
MBC's are simple mechanical devices.
