best MBC for your buck? [Merged 9-9]

A friend of mine is looking to get a MBC for his GST. I told him electric is the way to go, but he doesnt want to spend a couple of hundred dollars on one. I'm not too, too familiar with MBCs so which would you all recommend. Remember, he really doesnt want to spend too much money on one, but wants one that will do the job.

he asked about the $30 or so dollar ones from ebay, those any good?

i like the dejon tool mbc....i think it it superior to the joe p or hallman or any homemade one...it has a machined body with thumbscrews to change and lock the position...and the instructions and hoses are good quality...my .02

i got the hallman and can't complain. In a sense they are all basically the same when you speaking of that type of ball and spring device imo.

Basically i need a MBC i am open for new suggestions but i want something good and i have brought it down to Perrin MBC, JoeP MBC XC, and the Hallman ES. If you have any info on any of these or any info on what u thinks is good please give me feedback. Thanx

Looks like you listed all the basic MBC's. Just go with the Joe P, it's the cheapest and most people use it.

i personally have a dejon right now...works good. u also might want to check out hallman or joe p. your price range will be plenty for a quality mbc.

Personally I like the HALLMAN EVOLUTION RX KIT but that's a little more than your wanting to spend.

I just bought a boost gauge pillar pod and a electric oil pressure gauge and now i want to turn up the boost its a 13g on a 5spd talon ? i dont know why he swapped to the 13 g but how much boost can i run on that setup

It depends on what you want. A simple easy MBC that works well and is cheap, lets see, a SBR MBC, TurboXS standard MBC (what I have, works perfectly), and theres a couple more, search for them. You sure its a 13g?? Also, are you still running the stock 450cc injectors?? Your fuel setup will determine how much boost you can run, completely stock, I'd run no more than 14 psi personally.

You can make one with home depot supplies, there is a thread on here somewhere. I would personaly buy a hallman or Joe P.
