ok i am going to get a new clutch for my car. i was wandering which one i should go with. i was thinking of the act 2100. Dont think i want the 2600 because it is a daily driven car and will only go to the track a couple times a year. if there are some other brands you all would suggest let me know. i want a good streetable clutch for a cheap budget.

i was want to know what racing clutch disk i sould run with a stock pressure plate

1. Work on you grammar and spelling
2. Use the search feature next time, this topic has been discuss many times.
2. Do you have a power goal in mind?
3. Are you just looking for a disc and not a kit?

If you are staying stock, south bend kevlar or OFE disk, with TZ or SS pressure plate(if you are looking for one). Act is also prefered by many, 2100 with an Act "Street disc".

You used the word, "racing" when asking about the clutch disc, are you looking for a disk for high HP application?

Man personally I would not even get a race clutch for a stock engine. For many reasons first of which your car isnt going to be a daily driver any more, 2 no reason to get a race clutch when your not going to be pushing over 300 hp worth of mods. Me personally if you want a good clutch get a stage 1 Competion Clutch.

Is your stock one slipping?

my stock clutch slips if i launch hard

im planing on pushing 350 to 400 to the wheels and i grudge race this car so i need something that will not over heat or fade

My car has a shep Stage 3 Trans and a Competition Clutch 6 Puck sprung 2900. The clutch and the trans were both brand new, but I know 3rd gear synchros are shot now...

The car shift fine daily driving but once you add some boost and rpms it hates going into 2nd it like hits a wall and you have to practically use both hands under power to get it into 2nd gear. It also Grinds going into 3rd gear under high boost and rpms. It does not do any of this under normal driving conditions.

The clutch is adjusted right, its bled and everything so dont tell me that.

I need a clutch capable of running low 11s and high 10's....

What do you guys run?

I was running a ACT 2600 clutch kit on my old setup but I will be switching to a Competition Clutch Twin Disk for my new setup.

What step are you running on the flywheel? Also what rpm are you shifting at? A properly set up clutch should shift fine up to 7500-8000. You also shouldn't be experiencing any grinding unless the syncro's are getting worn out.

What rpm are you shifting at? Horsepower is really irreverent to shifting the transmission being that you are not on the gas and the engine is decelerating. It's all about the rpm that you are shifting at.

Well I was shifting around 8000... Like I said I'm pulling the trans and clutch so I need something that can shift around that high.

So the question is has anyone run 11's on a Single Disc Clutch? And what was your setup?

I have had an exedy stage 2 in clutch in my car and this is the second one I have went through in the 3 years I have had the car. This is no launching or anything just normal driving. Can anyone reccommend a good stage 2 clutch to replace it with that isn't overly expensive.

"Stages" are a marketing gimick, and have no technical merit. To be able to recommend a good clutch, we need to know your torque output and purpose for the car. (IE: 250 ft/lbs and street car, etc...)

Street car, 20lbs of boost on stock turbo and stock engine. About 300-350hp output I would guess lower 300s since I have yet to dyno it.

With the power you're putting down, I'd opt for a full face organic street disc. No need for anything aggressive and potentially harsh. The ACT 2100 is easy and pleasant to drive on and holds more power than you'll ever make on that T25. I was at 400hp/350tq on my 2100 and it held it perfectly.

Thats a good point I guess I do live in a city so stop and go traffic would suck with a strip clutch. Do you know what the break in period is for these?

I do not think technically, there is one. Some people say 500mi to get everything seated and use to working together. I think as long as you don't drop the clutch right away or slip it for the first few miles you will be fine. You can always contact ACT and get their point of view on it.
