ok i am going to get a new clutch for my car. i was wandering which one i should go with. i was thinking of the act 2100. Dont think i want the 2600 because it is a daily driven car and will only go to the track a couple times a year. if there are some other brands you all would suggest let me know. i want a good streetable clutch for a cheap budget.

I would recommend Spec. I just pulled one out of out of my GSX and it took 3 years of hell! Just look on there site for your goal of hp. But great clutch!! I beat the crap out of it and it took it!! So many hard launches, ahhh the memories.. LOL I'm currently putting a competition clutch now.

There are a lot of different ways to go here really it comes down to how much money you have to spend and if you will be able to handle the pedal during rush hour or traffic jams. Many people have used act pressure plates and different companies for the disks with good results. The easiest and more than likely best route for you will be a act 2600 clutch kit for simple fact of it being used in many dsm's and are proven to hold power. But it comes down to your choice and budget we can only suggest options to you and tell you from our experiences.

nice i would love to try out a southbend clutch next

2600 is a good choice though. a bit expensive compared to the southbend

wow the powerholding capabilities of the southbend clutches are insane, well from what iv been reading

I have more interest than most in a light clutch pedal, since I have a damaged left sciatic nerve due to a disk herniation in my back, and my left calf can only generate about 45 pounds of force, compared to about 300 pounds for my right calf. I can use the stock clutch OK, I just have to use the middle of my foot rather than the ball of my foot.

So, for anyone with experience with the ACT 2600 and/or the Centerforce units - is the pedal force difference really significant? Thanks!

i went through 2 CF clutches after the first one went out and they sold me one under warranty... bought a used ACT2600 from someone on this forum, then drove the crap out of it for a year until I parted it out, the ACT showed minimal wear... ACT over CF any day

Sorry if you seen a threat like this before but I've looked around the forums and haven't seen a simple answer for what I need

I just have a few questions on clutch suggestions, I have a 96 tsi talon fwd
the car is completely stock just a few bolt-ons (intake and a bov)
my clutch is slipping not all the time but rarely when I'm driving fast maybe 4 and 5th gear....

with that being said what kind of clutch-brands-model do you guys recommend
this is my daily driver-car :idontknow:

well honestly for now no... next summer maybe... for now im just getting a downpipe 3" exhaust and a fmic kit... what do you think?... what would u do in my case... thanx for the help in advance

An XTD stage 3 or 4 would be great (that's what I run), the only problem is it would be totally unnecessary for those mods.

I bought an XTD clutch once and the splines stripped out in less then 1000 miles.. I wouldnt recommend them to anyone.. But for you and what you plan to do I'd say just a stock clutch would work great. Also as stated above, get an OEM throw out bearing.

Iv herd good things about the ACT 2600 kit. But i was also wondering what else out there is good. I like to launch alot..... LOL and i need something under 700 that will be a good lasting kit. Any thoughts?

LOL i went with an ebay xtd stage 4 sprung kit, and i love it, i got it for around 190 shipped, it grabs hard and ive been using it for 15, 000 km and no slipping, read some reviews alot of people will vouch for these

Maybe take out the restrictor too.

I'm considering it. I think I'd rather it grabs suddenly than chatter. Should last longer too, right? Less slipping. I'm considering doing it for my 2600 THat thing can really grab sometimes. It's really nice.I think it's the restrictor keeping it from grabbing most time. But I don't know, just from reading I"m guessing.Problem is I don't want it to grab when I'm sunday driving.
Hmmm.

BTW Never seen it slip. Stock flywheel here. A little regret for that.
Definately get the SS clutch line\\\\

Laptop in the dark, sorry for typos

Exedy and Findanza are what I run and I love them. Best value of your money. I could go on for ever how much I love those two.
