I am looking at replacing my BOV. I was looking at the Greddy XS, but I seem to be seeing people with Greddy problems aplenty. What BOV do you like? Why?

Also, what is a safe PSI for a stock turbo? I hear rumors that anything beyond 14 will raise hell on the engine.

I am looking for some advice on a blow off valve upgrade. I have a pretty decent vacuum leak, assuming it's that stock BOV. I think I'm going to invest in hard pipes also. But I still have that stock T-25 so I'm looking for a replacement BOV that will fit similarly to the stock one. Advice appreciated, thanks.

You stated that you are investing on hard pipes. If you just upgrading the stock pipes to stock location and you buy something like this:

STOCK SIDEMOUNT INTERCOOLER PIPE KIT: 1995-99 ECLIPSE/TALON - Punishment Racing

Its comes flanged for the 1g or GReddy BOV. I am sure you can call a company like punishment and have them replace the flange for whatever BOV you want for a charge.
 
Looking for a good but cheap 1g style bov, I have hard piping from my intercooler to the TB and believe the 1g is a "Type S" Flange. Whats a good but cheap BOV that anybody has had luck with? Mine is starting to whistle when I let off at times and it was crushed before I bought the car and never seemed to have issues.

The flange is SIMILAR to the point where if the flange is a 1g flange all you have to is drill new holes, and they don't even interfere with stock holes.

You can get a working 1g BOV on here for below 30 dollars most of the time. Just look on the classifieds.

I personally think the Type-S is shit compared to a properly modified 1g BOV (Crushed or Dodge Garage Mod)

Also what do you mean by "whistle"? Can you possibly post a video? Hearing it will help diagnose the issue.
 
Its in the BOV cause even in park you can hear it when you rev it enough, + i think it may be opening early too because it will hit 12 - 14 psi then just slowly loose it and my other boost leaks I have fixed.

Also just running the 14b.
 
Dont mod your stock flange to accept the greddy bov.

Stick with the 1g..The reason you cannot hear it in park is because the car is an auto..A load has to be put on the engine for it to properly "blow off".

+1 a modded 1g BOV is the most reliable and capable BOV until you need more flow which then you might as well get a good one like a Tial Q.
 
Looking for a replacement just because as I said I think its def opening early.. just trying to figure out a cheap solution because i am broke atm and its my DD.
 
Have you crushed it or dodge-garage modded it? Mine was leaking at ~15psi, modded it, and haven't had a problem since up to 22-24 psi.

Btw, modding it is free, just need a vice and some JB weld.
 
Newbie ? But whats best way to go about crushing it the correct way / dodge modding it? Think mine is crushed but not 100% on it.

Dodge Mod DDG- Talon BOV mod for HIGH BOOST

To crush it, you put in in a bench vise and crush the top "hat" toward the bottom flange. Don't crush it past where the nipple hits the body and sits straight. If you crush it too much, the end of the nipple starts to point upward.

I ran a TurboXS RFL on my last set-up. Didn't have any problems with it persay; I did have to jam the entire amount of washers given in it to keep it from cracking open and leaking under high boost but once I did that it worked without issue. I am restarting the rebuild on my setup and am going to go with the Tial 50mm BOV on this next setup.
 
I had the Greddy which sucked due to boost leaks like crazy and now I'm using the NRG. So far the NRG hasn't given me any problems
