I should be able to bring the car up to the school by the end of the month. We received a 5 ft x 18mm diam solid piece of Ti and were trying to find a use for it. As long as we can work with it without too much trouble, we are going to get started as soon as possible. I'll try and document the whole process in case it does work out well.

On another note, I mounted the BOV this evening and then realized the recirc tube going back into the intake from the BOV has a different size flange. I used black tape for the time being to build the size up until it was snug. As long as all goes well this weekend, I should be able to test everything out. I'm a bit nervous as it has been sitting for almost 3 years but I'm sure I'll get the bugs worked out.

I bent a 2.5"alluminized pipe to go in place of my stock UICP.Then I marked where I wanted my 1G flange to go.Cut it out w/a torch.Then I welded the flange to the pipe w/ a mig and bolted my 1G BOV.Pics are in my gallery.

I used electrical tape to build up my 1st gen BOV when my car was new. Later that year when I took off my intercooler for cleaning I found crunchy pieces of the tape inside the intercooler. The only explanation I could come up with is some the tape must have succumbed to the heat and then went through the turbo (poor little usless T25!) ending up at the inlet side of the intercooler.

My advice is fab up something like hereitcomes talked about. The tape should be good for a while but don't leave it there for long.

I have an HKS ssqv and I'm looking for an adapter for my stock 1g pipe. I've looked aorund for a bold on one but they are all real exspensive and I'm unsure of the size I need of the other push in type. Does anyone know where to find a cheaper bolt on one or the size of the push in type. Thank you

What do you call real expensive? Dejontool has a HKS bolt on 1g adapter for $49

I'm sure you can just get the flange off of ebay and go to a local muffler shop and have them weld it on. All for the low price of under 40 dollars. Or you could just upgrade you UICP and buy one with an HKS flange. Either way it seems like you'd be spending the same amount with that drop in adapter. And don't forget to buy the recirculation kit for your hks ssqv.

I have a front mount that I'm waiting a bit to install (like a big red light for cops that my car is modded) but I'd like to use my bov now. I have an aluminum flange but don't want to use it till I do all my piping. Basicly I want the cheapest method to use my valve now but don't want to invest much since it will all be replaced in the future. So the cheaper the better. I see slip in adapters on ebay for like 25 bucks but I don't know the inside diameter of the hole in the current 1g flange to buy one.

And I already have the recirculation adaptor.

The flat, flanged side of that BOV adapter is the end that is meant to bolt the greddy BOV to. Leaving you with only the cylinder shaped end of the adapter, so it wouldn't work. And, as far as I know, there is no 1g to Greddy adapter, you just have to buy the intercooler piping flanged for it already, or buy the flange itself off of slowboy and have it welded and so forth.

Just sit the greddy on the stock flange and drill the bolt holes. It will fit, thats how I did my 1g.

Correct, it's the sandwich piece the BOV is sitting on, with bolts coming from both sides.
I think it might be easier for you just to find someone to weld on a flange for you, being you're outside the US, but DEJON | Powerhouse is the place you can get the sandwich piece. It's under BOV-MISC-TOOLS

I don't remember the site, but I know that the ones I've seen tend to leak. They are usually cast pieces with a general shape to them, and even with the o-rings in them, they leaked. I had to use RTV on it, let it settle, and then try it out. Anyway, good luck.

I recently purchased an apexi gtr intercooler that came with piping and a 50mm tial BOV. I already have a greddy type-s and I am not set up to run with the tial. I was really hoping that their might be some sort of adapter so that I can use the v-band flange thats already on my piping, but make it work with the type-s. Theirs got to be some sort of adapter, I know that the older tials support the greddy from what I've read, so maybe someone out their in the dsm community knows of an adapter that converts the 50mm bov to the older style? Thanks for any responses!

Because I have a IX MR BOV and not the 1G BOV. Boosting 20 psi daily the MR holds fine. The reason I'm looking for said adapter is because I'm getting ready to install a FMIC and it's flanged for a 1G. In the interim I'm trying to source a cheap but good 1G BOV and if I can find one locally I will more than likely go that route.

Anyone know of an adapter?

That adapter is used to put on a Aftermarket BOV onto a Stock 2G UICP. So no it will not adapt a BOV to a 1st gen UICP.

Is this a weld-on or bolt on adapter? Is there a bolt on adapter available? I need to get a an adapter ordered as I have a 1G BOV coming. Weld on is difficult for me because of timing required to get it done.

Fit a 1g DSM BOV to your stock 2G Upper IC pipe.

Since stock 2g upper IC pipe is made out of plastic, I doubt you'll be welding it.

As an expansion to the above...what's the point of this mod since you use the stock 2G upper section that also has a dramatic restriction where the "pipe" flattens out to fit under the stock air-box.

Save your money until it can be done correctly.
