hi, i wona upgrade my turbo on the gsx, and there is so many choices dont know which one to buy, so i asking you pepz wich turbo is best for under 1k for street/strip setup thanks,

the gt35r definetly is not under powered for 500-600 hp.. with a 2.4 with fp3x cams and aem ems.. thats what i wanted .. just wanted some opinions..

Then whats the 750hp for? I vote borg 362 then, rebuildable and more powerful. And then your not left with a paper weight when the chra section dies.

Whats to know? You decide on a manifold and turbine housing, pick an AR to go with it And slap it on, same as getting a 35r, only a 362 is non ball bearing, spools just about as well and makes more power.

You won't be getting 750 whp out of a bolt on housing, so this is not happening either way. If someone wants to argue, prove me wrong.

ok guys i need some advice here. im looking to make 450-500 whp im currently running a big 16g i want somthing with 3k-4k rpm spool time is this possible? what turbo would be good for me and whats the price range on a turbo like this. keep in mind thats even if one is possible thanks for the input and help

What about the precision scm---- cant remember the numbers turbos. They are ball bearing and cost a little bit less. $1079 I think. I was looking in to one of these for myself. How bad would boost be going with one of the larger 500-600 horse turbos on a 2.0?

If it's in good condition, with no shaft play, then yeah. You don't need a turbo as large as a 35R to get 500hp. A GT30R would spool noticeably sooner, and probably meet those goals. Then again there's also the Holset turbos. Steve93Talon made 457whp on his, and I believe he mentioned having more in it, while still retaining good spool time. Check out the Holset thread. Those turbos were originally designed to work on diesels, so reliability is not an issue. Heck, those turbos are even tougher than MHI's. Good luck on your search.

If I was looking for that power goal and wanted to do it fairly easy I would get a gt30r. The specific one I would get is a gt3082r. The reason for that is because my friend ran a 10.96 spinning in 1st and 2nd, the clutch slipping in 4th, and having a boost leak at the throttle body. That was with 33psi. If he kept that turbo I have no doubt he would have ran a 10.4x if those problems were fixed. He trapped 110 in the 1/8th but I don't remember his 1/4 mph.

For the money, Holset is the way to go. My buddy made 400whp on the smaller hx-35 on 20psi and pump gas. You could get the bigger hx-40 (or h1e) that's rated up to 600whp (h1e is a little less). People have had spool charcteristics around 3600-3800rpm's on the hx-35 and 4000-4200rpm's on the hx-40. Good spool and crazy top end ftw. I got my h1e for 300 shipped brand new off of ebay. Read up on them. search "holset" and there's enough info on here that will have you reading for days.

450hp on what kind of gas? On what kind of dyno? You could probably make 450hp if you were on a dynojet, running E85 or C16 with a lot of boost on a 50-trim. But you'd be stretched to make 450hp on a dyno dynamics on regular pump gas with a 50-trim.

PTE 6152 would do it with a few options available to you:

The 6152S with the .82A/R T3 housing and the 4" S or SP compressor covers would do it easy... or the PTE 6152E with the Mitsu housing and 3" E compressor cover would also do it, and the Mitsu housing you could use an internal wastegate and save a bit of money, but the Mitsu housing would hurt top end after a while.
