^Thanks man, I did get the turbo at sale price. I am very excited to see what she does. I will be sure to let you know my thoughts on it when its all said and done! The generated interest in this setup has confirmed for me that it was worth it. Hopefully English and everyone involved can turn it into a product for everyone!

^^I can understand completely what you are saying; In my situation the T4 limited me to having a manifold built. Since I had to have it built I figured why not be unique/different and run a FF one. Ive found no one with this combo in the DSM forums or Evo forums and the idea intrigued me. The retention of PS, AC, and all that was just a desire. AC has already been sacraficed, PS will not go but I may look at doing a MR2 PS pump in the future. Besides, how many times have we seen the same build? I did that bit with my Evo 3 setup, the intent here was to build something that showcased a unique setup and hopefully an efficient one at that.

Thanks for the comments guys! Keep them coming!

Went up and saw the car today, it looks fantastic! I spoke with Lucas and it sounds like it will be ready to take home middle of next week! On a side note, anyone looking at using a Wally 450, I must admit, I am quiet impressed with it, the car was idled for me today and the pump is extremely quiet, pretty much as quiet as my 255 was. I am also very impressed with the FIC 2150's, the idle on them is unreal!

We have a pretty slick plan setup for the air filter on the car which should keep everything running nicely with a decent filter. More pics to follow next week!

Happy Thanksgiving all, I hope if you are reading this you GET OFF the net and go eat some killer food and enjoy your families company, I know Im out, its time for dinner number one of the holidays!

What kind of air filter setup do you have planned? I'm definitely curious.

^The plan is to run a stubby 4 inch intake at a 90 bend off the turbo with a large filter off of it sitting right on top of the fmic. I am going to be pulling the front end apart for some major ducting/sealing and can incorporate this space into it as well. I'd love to run a short stubby filter right off the turbo for looks but it wouldn't let the monster breath. It will be odd having this sick mani and just putting a intake on it but I want to protect my investment when I'm not at the track.

Numbers? Anyone wanna put down some guesses? It will be on English's DynoJet dyno and done by the end of the week if the schedule holds. Lets get some recorded guesses just for fun! High, low, anywhere inbetween, give me some AWHP/TQ numbers (on e85)! I will post the sheet of course once I have it.

My guess:

598/510 <---- Figure why not shoot high :p

^ CR of 9.0

My guess is probably a bit low on HP, TQ I'd be surprised to see it put down more given that the 2600/6 puck is only rated for 530ft/lbs at the flywheel. My 2900/6 puck was rated for 570 and only held 494 on a couple pulls. After that, TQ fell off while HP stayed the same. IIRC after timing and boost were dialed back in the peak TQ range it left the dyno around 470ft/lbs.
Anyhow, I'd rather guess low and be surprised :)

Id bet your guess is a lot more accurate than mine! :thumb: I enjoy the guessing game! Thanks for the input, its like pulling teeth getting anyone to talk in here! HAHAHA

Yea, I usually keep my mouth shut around here. I really like the build and I'm super excited to see how much more power you make with the divided T4 setup and nice manifold, plus the billet wheel. I think there is enough potential to break the 600 mark. I'm being stubborn and trying to get there with a cast wheel and bolt-on housing :p

^You have more patients then me! I hope you make it there with that stuff, I honestly think the cast wheel has more in it than many people think. I am also a firm believer that the bolt on housing can be more potent than people let on as well, but hell, what do I know! I look forward to seeing what you do with it and the new motor!

Me too, I'm getting the itch. Everything is at the machine shop getting zero balanced right now. Should have it back by the end of the week then I just have to find some time to put it together and drop it back in the car. If all else fails, I'll just treat it like a 16g and unplug the wastegate line :D

LOL Thats always a good tactic!

Honestly though, it does surprise me how hard people push for efficient setups and then they just drop a MONSTER turbo on it... I know there is something to be said for not running on the ragid edge with a turbo, but come on! Ill take area under the curve all day over max hp

You'll be pretty happy with your setup then. I saw over 400ft/lbs to the wheels around 3800rpm, 1.14s 70-90mph, very street friendly!!

Damn, 3800 for 400 ft/lbs... thats pretty much nuts on what my evo 3 16g did... man I sure hope it stays in that area! My biggest fear was loosing the response of the 16g going to a larger turbo, thus the reason I went full stupid on all the extras, guess maybe Ill be ok then! :)

Hey that's great looking on your numbers to try to get a idea of how much power that setup will do, im curious because im looking at doing a new setup next year.

^^Ill be stoked to break 600 whp if it happens, if not I guess it wasn't meant to be! Good luck with your build! I'll keep my eyes out!

^Thanks man, I'll be sure to let the cat out of the bag as soon as I can!

I bet you come back with 4something because i went there (to english) hoping to break 475 and came out 392 on 22psi 92 oct and they didnt try to turn up boost.

Im probably at 500+on 94 oct and 28psi same turbo on my friends tune.

And 650+ at 37psi on c16

^Could be, time will tell, I know they have tuned Spencer's vr4 to ~530 awhp, per one of my previous posts so I would expect it will turn out well.

Didn't your car have a problem with timing for some reason when they were tuning it? I thought there was some additional work you were gunna do and then take it back for a retune. Or was that someone else?

Look man I'm a fan of your build but all I ever see you doing is bench racing. You can't continue to claim all of these numbers without any proof. You can't just put down less than 400 and then go on to claim 650+. As far as your comments about English I've heard nothing but good things about them and if they wouldn't turn up the boost its probably because they didnt consider it safe to do so on your setup. To the OP don't worry about urban smoker's comment he has yet to prove any of his claims true in regards to anything.

^its all good, I appreciate and respect you greatly for the support First, and I'm sure English does as well. Lucas and everyone at English racing has always treated me with the utmost respect and have always produced great results as far as I am concerned. They tune some of the fastest machines around, period! Just look at the ETS gt-rs and Jeff bush's 1g, freaking amazing!

I understand that urban had a different experience with them and I don't mind him giving his experiences. I hope he did get his setup to +650 whp on c16, that would be a fun ride. Could you tell me by chance, does that put him as one of the highest whp cars with the hx40? I'd love to see a dyno graph for a comparo. That's some great work for a 35r sized turbo. But I guess, hell, look at what talondave is doing! That is potent!

He could be right, I might come back with high 3xx whp, but I would suspect that won't be the case unless something gives. They already tuned me to ~400 whp and ~400 ft lbs, I know this setup is far more capable than my evo 3 in terms of flow, so it should be fun to watch.

I invited everyone in to throw out some numbers, thank you to everyone that has, I'm in it for the journey more than for the end result. If I know one thing it's that there is ALWAYS someone faster, I just want to give them some competition :p

OP. What gas are you planning to use for the final tune ? As for urbansmoker I know his car and he has his 500 HP now on 94 gas .I was also at the track with him when he hit 11.1 so the hp's are there.
