Not a fan...We have been replacing them left and right at the shop.

You should as they have been using a cheaper one that fails. but do whatever you want with your money

Yeah I'm totally aware it's a manual, just trying to find out if he is still using his staging brake to preload the drivetrain before launching the car or just letting the clutch device slip the clutch for him.

Have you been seeing failures on MAP's launch control device specifically? What parts are different / inferior in the MAP one compared to the Magnus one?

I have had very good luck with the vibrant clamps for some time now at 40+ psi. I have had to replace a few of the orings on the pipes, but that was as much my carelessness while slipping the sleeve over them as it was them being worn out.

You provide no value to this thread. There is nothing novel about the launch device, your 100% incorrect about your statement regarding it. Magnus didn't develope/design it in the first place. Magnus makes novel products like the v3 intake manifold, that I use and think is awesome.

Keep your ratchet bs out of the thread.

Yes I still will use the staging brake to preload the drivetrain. I'm excited to try it out! I will be getting out in late may. But running on the street a little to test it all out prior to the track.

Thanks for the diplomatic factual approach, unfortunitly its not worth it sometimes.

Had a good weekend at BIR. I started to tune in the launch control device, it works well but is very touchy. I need more seat time as I only got 5 passes in all weekend. The car is ready for the MAP event in June. I was able to focus on the tree cutting a .047, .098 and a .2 second light. This video was during time trials and the mustang ran a 12.0, you cannot see it from the video.

I was going 124.9mph, 6.03 seconds in the 1/8. This was a 1.60 60 foot too! I rolled the beams causing a slow 60 foot time. I know how to solve this too.

    Overall a fun weekend.

I'm up at MAPerfromance's 2014.1 prooving grounds. I bogged my first launch so I aborted the run, second pass I ran a 8.91! No longer sick of 9's :thumb:! The car is running great and qualification rounds are today. I'll load up a video next week after the event is over.

My fastest pass to date, the weekend went great over all.
This video is of the 8.86. It was prior to the elimination round. I figured I needed to face the Toyota, since I would be seeing him in the finals. I’m 100% happy that I got out first!!!!!!

    Quick update:

I’m in the process of building my aluminum rod 2.2 SLR motor. I’m using a 6 bolt Eagle 94mm crank with R&R 153mm rods. I didn’t know how well the clearancing was going to go, since others have had major levels of work to get a 2.3L to work with aluminum rods. I finished up the block and it clearance just fine with no issues blowing through the oil galley! These rods are huge too! Check out this thing next to my factory Evo IX rod!

    20141024_203719_2.jpg

This was during the clearancing process, the girdle didn't even need to be modified!

Quick update: I have a couple of items going on, the goal over this winter is to remove some more weight and build the new short block. I looked over the car for opportunities and I'm going to fab up a tubular K-member and lower control

I purchased a bead roller and sheet metal box brake and was looking for a project to use them. I looked in the rear of the car and thought I could save a good amount of weight.

Well it turned out to be a touch over 45 lbs when it was all weighed out.

    Starting:

I attached a cross bar between my strut towers, you can see where the old down bars interfaced the floor previously.

Absolutely amazing craftsmanship not only for the rear floor but for this entire build. Extremely inspiring, if I owned a 1g this would most definitely be my go to thread when improving my car. I hope you can make it into the 7's!!! That was a big jump from 9.1 to 8.86, the way you have made your car I can definitely see it happening.

The windshield and doors are glass. The rear hatch and rear sides are the flex a lite lexan/polycarbonate kit. It should be a hundred pounds lighter for this season and make more power.
