Hello guys I know this has been talked about a lot but please help me out finding the best bang for my money!
I have a torn down 6 bolt engine and I believe stock can go 500 hp?? So my pistons and rods are still in perfect condition upon inspection and im on low budget so basically I'm gonna put it all back to stock with new rings and bearings if possible plus ill put ARP Head studs and already have stock oem head gasket! so what's my best option? the thing is I've just got ecm link and a bigger turbo that bolts on perfectly that is rated for 400 hp so down the road I will get it tuned to 300 hp to the wheels hopefully. is that gonna be reliable?? with stock pistons and rods?? i drive this daily 20 miles a day minimum so please recommend what is needed to keep it reliable when I tune it to 300 hp to the wheels

While you are here you might aswell make it a bit more reliable for later on if you plan to push it more. Try find some used evo rods and pistons or used second hand set of an aftermarket brand. Either will allow you to support future goals abit more and you wont have to worry

This will support goals later on should you wish to go further up the HP and TQ figures.

Second hand would be ideal to save you funds.

As for bearings if its just a street car some regular acl or king bearings will do just fine on a daily driven car.

what aftermarket rods and pistons would you recomend is optimal. and is that really necesary? my 300tq goal is pretty much my highest goal and then daily this car after. so if it isnt neccessary for that power goal id prefer not to buy and just get new rings. cause if i go that aftermarket internals route id rather buy the best instead of a used one.

If that truely is your max you wish to run then stick with stock then. That will do you just fine but the 2g rods are the weaker link but will most certainly do for your needs then for your max goals.

Evo rods used wont be a problem and would support upto about 500hp well sonitsbthe next cost effective bump up.

The best to everyone else is different. Ask everyone and they all have their own choices depending on budget and what the build is. me included LOL

so with that said just stick to your stock parts and re ring them and normal king bearings and you will be fine as mostly daily useage

No matter what bearing manufacturer you use, go with a tri-metal. Stay away from aluminum. They are softer and I don't use them unless I have no other choice (like a crank cut .30, you cant find anything but alumiglide bearings for).
ACL race or King are good names. I've never used King but they are used by lots of others.
Bobby is correct that for your goals, stock will be fine. Since it is a 6 bolt, as you mentioned, the stock bottom end will hold up well even if you upgrade later on. They have the larger rods in them.
Stock Nippon rings for the stock pistons should be fine. I have one stock bottom end 4g63 and it will end up with a HX35 Holset on it at some point. I trust it to hold up but I built it.
