Prep work #10 ... New welder . Gone through atleast 5 of the 125 amps . When they start to go I have to cut the case and run an external fan to keep from over frequent high temp timeouts . New welder is impressive so far , more amps , less splatter , but don't know how durable they are .

If you're using an extension cord to power the welder it should be #12 wire and no more than 20' long ...keep the machine inside it's duty cycle (hard to do sometimes I know especially with a mig on 125 vac
:ohdamn:)
I work outside using a 50' 12 gauge extension cord . Pretty sure it's 12g and not 10g cause I paid $50 for it a few years back . I'm fine and don't run a warm cord or trip any breakers so long as nothing else is in use . I put a ton of hours on the 125 amps before they start fighting back .

Seriously, though, please don't drive this on the street.

If that's the standard weld employed here, that's scary as hell.
It looks like that cause didn't grind the base . Standard is Prep work #14 on a $100 flux core welder .
