turbo rebuild?

I'm doing a complete rebuild on everything and wondering if I should have my turbo rebuilt or not.

It has a little shaft play, nothing bad, and a couple cracks on the exhaust housing where the wastegate port is.

How do I know if my turbo is still good or not? Should I just go with a rebuild? Are the cracks going to only get worse? Good time to upgrade to a 7cm exhaust housing?

IF theres much shaft play a rebuild is in order. User jusmx411 or somthing like that rebuilds them pretty resonably. You could also attempt to tackle it your self. Theres not much to it, just take your time and be thorough.

Also, the cheap china knock off evo 16g's are a good source for a 7cm housing. There are blown up ones everywhere, that people will give away!

I run one on my 14b for a while before I went big turbo. I believe they were copied off a ported MHI evo3 housing. It worked very well. The locating dowel was different on the china turbo, so I just took it out. Also, make sure the bushing for the waste gate housing is tight. Mine came loose and allowed the flapper to uncover half the wg passage. I just put the bushing in place and tacked it good with the mig.
