My stock 14b turbo has 142k on it. I was wondering how you can rebuild your turbo so that it is returned to brand new condition, or i was wondering if you would just have to replace it? :dsm:

When i bought my car it had roughly 130k on it and the turbo had stopped spooling due to coking. I took mine all apart and got a rebuild kit from some company down south. Sorry cant remember the name. The way i cleaned it was first to scrap the coking off and then i dipped the dirty and coked up parts in muriatic acid for a few minutes and that cleans it right up. (only dipped the exhaust side turbine, shield, and the center section once apart) Make sure if you do it this way to get oil on the center section right after you take it out of the acid and rinse it with water, and then blow dry, otherwise it will rust badly. Once i got the rebuild kit ($100 bucks or so) I sent in my center shaft with both turbines on it and the new nut to forced performance and it cost roughly 30 to balance and they scribed a mark on it for me so i knew where to line it up. I have had no problem with it so far and have got about 4-5k miles on it and some of those are ROUGH miles (Racing) and i also run about 12 psi on it all the time.
