The 4G63 NT Engine, and How to make a turbo kit for it!

Most mechanics charge $60/hour here in Canada, so $50/hour in US (someone correct me on it) so you are looking at a sh*tload of hours. Depends if you are doing anything to the block. Give your list of things you want to do and I'll try to figure it out for you to a close approximate.
 
The block is pretty much done to what i want. I want the works i can do most of the simple stuff (which i realize there isnt much of on this project) but EVERYTHING i need to run it safely. Im real sick of going through engines so when i mean everthing i mean everything. Id probly start with a stock turbo and then upgrade later.

that's one of the wisest decisions you can make at this point in time. :thumb:
 
how much hp do you think i will be at with this turbo set up
turbo intake manifold
" exhaust manifold
" 02 sensor and houseing
" ecu
knock sensor
14 turbo running at 8psi boost
forged pistons and rings
k&n short ram intake
400cc injectors and fuel regulator
3 " cat back exhaust
msd ignition
magnecore 8.5mm wires
ngk iridium plugs
all on my 92 n/t 5speed talon
 
has alot to do with what pistons you're using. i think you should simply look into some 2g pistons for something like this. or forged but no less thatn 9:1. its not worth it for forged 8.5's if you can jsut get 2g pistons instead for cheaper.

Ya dude, insurance is taking care of most of mine because i shot my engine so when i talk about my cost most is taken care of for me and i forget that. 2nd gen pistons is probly the way to.

there aren't pistons you "should get", rather a few ones you "could get"

1. forged pistons. i would go with these if you plan on keeping the 9:1 compression

2. 2g pistons. go with these if 8.5:1 pistons are what you're looking for, but don't have the money for forged pistons

3. 1g pistons. lower compression but take no work to install onto 6 bolt rods or 7 bolt rods. just make sure your pistons match your rods and you're all good.

its ultimately up to you to decide what you're goals are and what your price range is.

forged are around $500, 2g around $225, 1g pistons will be pricey from the dealer, but could be next to free from someone who's upgraded their 1g already.

i really have no clue. i'd heard of a few that aren't on this site, but can't confirm them or how well it was pulled off.
 
xhypno im new but im curious,could you use a standalone ecu on this setup to better monitor the fuel curve,or is the stock turbo ecu a better choice
 
This is taking way too long a is making me realy fruterated. I think im going to end up just buying a turbo kit for my car. I found with evertythign i need (stock turbo include) with a front mount intercooler. What do you guys think?

I don't think they have a 1G turbo kit, but if you found one, link it up. I'd love to see it.

Parts I've collected so far:
Full 92 JDM Eclipse N/T Engine
New timing belt accessories w/water pump
APR head, rod and main studs
HKS 264 cams
Full N/T gasket set (everything cept for turbo accessories)
550CC injectors
FPR
OEM 4 Layer head gasket
16G turbo w/ ported housing and upgraded wastegate
2G MAS
MBC
2G Exhaust Manifold
Turbo Oil Pan

Needed:
All oil and coolant lines for turbo
Pistons w/Block Work
Resurface Valves
Oil Pump

Then the engine can be put back together. It's all a freakin' waiting game I tell you. Earn money, buy parts, earn money, buy parts... all in a cycle.

Is that only for the 94's, my 95 also has a K in the fifth place of the vin #, and seems too quick to just be pushing 140 hp. I raced my brother in his 96 BMW 318ti hatch back, which is at 138 hp, plus he is suppose to be pushing 5 lb's of torque more than my car, and his car weighs 500 lb's less than mine. I kicked the crap out of him. And it's not because he can't race, that boy can drive.
