Ok so the local strip finally reopened and i went to opening night. Went over my GST and everything was tight.......so i thought. Got to the strip and i was the onl import there and drew alot of attention cause i guess they have never seen a turbocharged eclipse........or the fact my car is pumpkin orange but thats besides the point. So Test and Tune finally came around and i went to run and ended up going against a 12 second silverado SS. Took off spun and spun as did he hit second spun hit third spun then i heard a loup pop and i lost all power and the car eventually died. Got out on the servis road and the Upper Intercooler line had came off which has never done before with only 13psi and i usually go to 15psi at the track. But none the less me and a friend fixed it and i lined up again thinkin this was my run and i was gonna own my friends 13s starion (which i didnt) and we took off he left me like nothing because as soon as i hit 2nd gear it wasnt there so i went to third and cruised. parked in pits and inspected and noticed my shifter linkage is lose. So now i tried to tighten it up as best i could but every time i would move shifter to second it would pop out. So the GST was done after only 2 runs the fastest being 18.000 :banghead: which is unacpetable in my book. seeing is how i ran a 15.3 with out the FMIC and tune. and now i have both on and removed my headlight for extra air. So i am beyond pissed at my GST for being a total POS tonight. Oh well cant wait to get the TSi AWD then im done with FWD.
 
LOL.. paitence, practice and slicks is what you need. People seem to give up on FWD all to easily. Hate to break it to you, but blowing off an IC pipe and missing gears will net you a bad time in an AWD car, as well.
 
LOL didnt miss second didnt have second i hit it perfect everyshift just the shifter couldnt go back far enough to engage second. and the reason i am getting an AWD is the major spin issue no matter where i launch.

Better tires my friend.. Judging from your profile (if its up to date) and your projected power level from those mods, you shouldnt be having an issue with wheel spin. Also Id recommend reading up on launching a fwd. Dont want to just dump the clutch. :thumb:

no its not up to date, even on a roll in first if i accelerate to hard ill spin, its just my tires they are crappy. But in a 2nd gear roll i can beat mid 13 second cars by about 2-3 lenghts. i NEED a dyno day soon so i can work out some kinks in the system.
 
No link doesnt work but i went to a long street not to far from me to do a few launchs and foud that ALS helps me more than regular 2 step, and if i dont go WOT in first until about 5500 RPM ill pick up good speed and a great shift into second.
 
Have you considered an lsd? Or even the much cheaper alternative phantom grip style lock up? I am thinking about rebuilding my trans and locking it up while im in there.

already have an lsd i belive cause i dont have one tire spin i have both spin even in burn outs. Another reason i think i have one is because i will bet the tranny has been rebuilt cause 2nd and 3rd gear are taller than my 96 gst tranny.
