Just wanted to say congrats on the new best and hopefully 9's come soon. I wish I would have been there to see the transmission r+r that way I could have met more cool people but just meeting Dave, Justin, And Justin's Girlfriend was cool enough. I would have loved to lend a hand on the repairs but being around all those guys I would have felt like a newb.

It was a fun time. Good to meet you guys in person. I was the guy taking pictures, offering poweraid during the last swap.;) Didnt want to get in the way and frankly I wouldnt know what to do anyway. Dave was very close to the 9. I had my camera die while I was filming the 10.02, but I was able to grap my phone for the final 100ft..
I also got a video of Dave getting yanked by the cops..LOL..But I must of said "that's f####ed up" 100 times... If Dave wants me to post it on youtube or something, I'll be glad to..

Dave- Here is a few shots of you at the track. I'm sure I have more, but I thought these were really cool. I like the ones on the summit side when everyone was holding there ears...This would be in my garage. Nice to meet you guys again.

Thanks man, the pictures look great! Hell yeah man post up the video, I want to get a laugh!!!

That was so much fun. It's a lot nicer pulling a trans out when all of the efforts are shared. When i saw you getting pulled over by the cops, all i could think was I'm glad you didn't take a beer when i offered one. Congrats on the new best, videos and pics are sick. Watching your car made me spend more money on parts. Thanks for putting on a show for the holset fans!

Yes. Video of him getting yanked by the cops please. LOL.

The car is still crazy, man. I've been watching this thread so close and get upset everytime you don't get that 9! you're sooo close!

What did you end up getting pulled over for??? I've been wanting to drive to the east coast (going this weekend actually) but i'm affraid everywhere i go i'm gonna be getting yanked over for too dark of tint and too loud of exhaust. I just hope that being that i'm legal where i'm registered thatthey won't be able to ticket me in other states. (sorry not tryin to go OT, just wonderin why ya got yanked by the po and what they gave you for tickets/warnings)

Headlights weren't on after dark. It wasn't even totally dark yet, and Dave did have his parking lights on. I think it was a bullshit excuse just to pull him over and see if he was drinking.

We ran the car 500ft down the road to the All American to visit Tim Zimmer for a minute and show him that the car was finally up and running, and as soon as we pulled out and headed back the state boy whipped around and followed us into the parking lot.

Nevermind the side-exit exhaust, driving with slicks on the street, the two idiots (me and Lofty) in the back seat where there's not actually a seat at all....

LOL

Lol, even better was the WARNING STATEMENT I had just finished telling him to not do anything stupid; there are 15+ squads out; INCLUDING the one that pulled him over was just in our parking lot and I was talking with him for like 10 minutes. He pulls out of the parking lot and rips it a bit on the main drag and instantly gets pulled over -- the cop was in the oil change place right next to the hotel.

Be happy it was the State Trooper instead of the city cops who would have likely written you a citation. That State Trooper was really nice to talk to.

Wow, talk about a streak of luck LOL I"m not sure exactly what state you were in but one thing i do know is that out east (where i was raised also) the cops are like freaking nazis compared to the cops here in omaha (where else can you lead the cops on a 4 mile chase at 140mph, pull over cause your wife did and both get let go with a verbal warning LOL - of course that was back in my idiot days, i pull over every time now)

When i was a teenager living in the northern VA area (fredericksburg) YOu didn't even THINK about leaving a parking spot after dark without your lights on, let alone risk leaving a parking lot with judt your "pimp lights" on :D One thing i don't miss about home is being pulled over for some imaginable reason and going through a "roadside inspection" because the cop didn't feel like my sticker was legit.. of course i atributed most of it to being a teenager but talking to the few people back home i've kept close with over the years, iguerss it doen'st even stop when you're in your 30's

This is a sure sign the world is coming to an end.. *voice of jeff foxworthy* when the state troopers are nicer than the local cops, the world might be about to end LOL (end voice) LOL

Never heard of a nice state trooper, especially out east (ohio, VA, PA are some of the worst i've dealt with)

One thing i really love about nebraska is that this place lives and breathes motorsports of all types so unless you're being rather idiotic about your driving or are shooting a shotgun from the back of a pickup while selling crack on a 2 for 5 sale, you really don't have to worry about the other things you might get ticketed for in other states.. of course we have a lot of POS cars on the road due to this as well.

Well, i'll cut this here but i do want to say that I really hope one day to make one of these events and meet all you guys, it would be really cool to actually meet and put faces to the screen names that i talk about and reference to in daily DSM'ing activities (i can barely imagine how cool it would be to hang with yall, and then go cruise in a pack of "real" built DSM's)

Congrats on the timeslips Dave and great work by the rest of you guys (justin, lofty, Tim etc..) that have been his supporting staff and pit crew

...the cop was in the oil change place right next to the hotel.
The stateboy that nailed us was definitely headed the other direction on Milan Ave., Tim. In fact, it was the only visible car on Milan Ave. in the other direction clear back to the stoplight at the Burger King....I had a weird feeling it was a cop as soon as I saw it approaching, but as you can see in the pic on the previous page it was sort-of dark out so it was hard to see the lights on the roof until they were on. LOL

He was probably just getting ready to set up that DUI checkpoint in front of your hotel. ROFL

Was that at the sobriety check? If so that sucks, I made it through that check with my headlights off and my running lights on. I guess it paid to not drive a dsm last weekend ROFL

Best of 10.10 @ 143.54 tonight at PRP....the evening consisted of three passes: the first was a horrible bogged launch, the second was the 10.10, and the third resulted in a broken left rear axle about twenty feet past the start. He had the parts to swap the axle but there would not have been enough time to get the job done before the final pass of the evening. Videos to follow shortly I'm sure.

We also uncovered a massive boost leak somewhere which may in fact be the intercooler core. His boost pressure stays consistent in the high-30's, but the most airflow logged on the 10.10 pass was in third gear around 6500 RPMs. Once the car was in fourth gear it never logged over 58 lb/min, which we believe to be the reason that the trap speeds are suffering.

I'm loaning Dave my Buschur core to finish out the season....I think it's time we retire the old 2.5"-thick DeJon core. Yes, Dave's run a 10.02 on an antique 2.5"-thick street intercooler with a massive leak somewhere in the intercooler system. Can't wait to see how this car runs with an intercooler rated remotely near the horsepower he's actually putting down! :p

Glad to hear you tracked down the problem. I was looking through my logs at the shootout and found that I was at 13:1 :/. Did a boost leak test and found I had 2 injectors leaking(one was just pouring the air out). And the oring for my Tial BOV completely failed :(

He literally rolled through the hotel parking lot less than 10 minutes prior to Dave getting pulled over specifically telling us to not leave whatsoever in a car if you are doing anything stupid or drinking. He notified us that they were setting up DUI checkpoints and that when the sun goes down (8:45pm or so), that they were locking down Milan Ave pretty much. The state trooper was nice enough to give us the heads-up, and told us that if we wanted to party, just keep it on the premesis and don't drive. We had a squad or two roll through our parking lot at least 20 times Friday night just maintaining the peace and making sure "fire lanes" were clear. They didn't give a damn about open intoxicants whatsoever.

There were a few dumbasses that thought it would be cool to do burnouts and launches in our parking lot in front of expensive cars also. I specifically pulled aside a couple of them, took their license plate information, and gave them the heads up that I had the State Trooper's cell number and would personally call them in if they did that shit again and have them arrested. The police were being nice, don't screw that up as they could have brought the hammer down whenever they wanted and made our hotel party into a lame time very quickly.

The most disappointing thing that happened at the end of the night was the A-hole that thought it would be funny to throw a Smironoff vodka bottle out the 3rd floor hallway window onto a beautiful white 1G AWD below from Conneticut, blowing out his rear hatch glass and sending glass everywhere. We called the police and they didn't do much since it was vandalism; pretty much car insurance policy stuff.

On top of this, I personally cleaned up all the garbage and bottles left out by people in the parking lot on Friday and Saturday nights. I thought people had enough common sense to clean up after themselves.

It's horrible how guys like that have to ruin the fun for everyone else.

We did the same around the general area of Dave's truck. I'm sure that most of the mess was from our group, but we at least make the effort to keep the parking area looking nice so we're welcome back. No need to leave the place looking like a tornado ripped through.

Heres my incab runs from last night, sorry don't have the outside views at this time... The axle breaking was nasty, this is what its like to break one!

Eagle to base- We have liftoff I repeat we have liftoff.

Dave, Is it just me or is your launch control set just north of 6k? That car just launches so violently. Hopefully the only thing broken was the rear axle. Will you be coming to englishtown on october 15 for the mitsu vs. subie event?

Yeah my launch control is set at 6250...Everything on the car seems great, trans is shifting perfect, it was just a broken axle bar!

I will not be making it to the Englishtown event...
