No thanks, I will waste my money before switching to gunky syrup!LOL
Plus, its no where near me..

Just playing, I might switch to it later down the road, but for now I'm limited cause of my tiny injectors!

Does your track sell any type of ethanol or alchohol? I know the track near me sells e98 right there at their pumps along with 110,112, and 116

IMO one would want to run a tall narrow slick with a decent amount of pressure in them to get the best of both worlds.
Trouble is a slick isn't really like a radial street tire, it's more like a quad tire where the more pressure you add the larger the tire gets. You can't just throw 40psi in a slick and get the best of both worlds. The closest thing would be a set of MT street radials.

Stop wasting a ton on Race gas and go e85:thumb:
He has the pumps for it, but he's currently sitting on duty cycles in the 90's with his 1200's.....so more injector is going to be necessary no matter what at this point. It's a possibility he could run some E85 in the future when the second fuel rail is added, and larger injectors just aren't in the cards right now due to limited funding.

This really is a budget setup!

Not so lucky....although I could run to Monroeville and get some E85 and Sheetz anytime he wants to run it. He could get 30 gallons of E85 for what he's currently paying for 5 gallons of Q16....although the Q16 just smells so damn good. LOL

^^^^^^^
You got that right Justin the race gas does smell so awesome. Thats the part im going to miss the most about switching over to water/meth and pump gas

Just paid $220 for a 55gal drum of e98 here in KS. The grape top lube smells nice! :hellyeah:

Thats good for you, untill its around me, I'm not going to be running it or anything but Q16! I love the power this stuff makes, I only race once a month anyhow, so its not a big deal buying a can of Q16!!

I may try some VP import, some time this year, I have heard some crazy shit about that stuff, but for $140 for 5 gallons I will only be trying it once, just to see what we can do with it!!! It might not even be worth the extra $40 for it though, on my setup!

Do they still have e85 in robinson, right off of us22?

Not sure, Donnie- that's the opposite side of the city from me. Only time I get out that way is when I'm picking someone up at the airport.

I believe there's a new BP station in Uniontown that we passed on our way back from the Fright Farm last fall which was advertising E85 as well....not sure if they still have it or not.

Nearly 30 buck a gallon!?!?!?! Really? For that price that shit better put your car as it sits in the 8's! Holy fawk.... I could never afford to run race gas in my car. It gets driven on the street way too much... E85 makes plenty of power!

Haha that's the truth.

It sometimes feels like I'm cheating having e85 so readily available the past couple years. It's like running race fuel all the time and for cheaper than pump. Except for the price, that Q16 is some damn good fuel though.

Yeah don't get me wrong, E85 is some stuf I want to try in the future, but for now race fuel is all that going in it! See when I do drive my car, i just put 93 pump in it, cause I never rip on it when I take it out! Its mostly a track car, its still a mid 10s car on pump93, so I have nothing to worry about!

$110 for 5 gallons of C16 is what I pay in Canada. Im suprised its not all that much cheaper in the states.

C16 does get pricey :(

I really don't care how much I pay for fuel, with Q16, atleast I know what I'm poring in to my tank, and its going to run the same everytime!

We literally tune my car once a year, and pretty much don't even turn on the laptop again!

Dave, stick with Q16, it is nearly the same for overall tune up to 45psi or so. Above that I would run VP Import for better knock resistance. The price difference of $15/gal vs.$27/gal is not worth it unless you are maxing out the Q16.

Are you really taking advantage of the race gas if you can run pretty much the same times on 93?

Im guessing him running 9's is important to him and it wouldnt happen on pump gas without water/meth, and at that point he might as well stick with Q16 since the water/meth kit is expensive

I really don't know what the car would run on pump93, the most the car likes is 30psi on pump! Which would never net me a 9s pass, so thats why the q16 is needed! The best the car ran last year on pump was a 10.86, and there wasn't anymore we could do, with it..The race gas dont really add power, just lets us do more with it..

Ok boys, heading back to the track next Thursday the 23rd to try and get that 9s pass! I have the NLTS wire hooked up, and hoping that fixes my 1-2 shift!
Im also going to be installing eibach sportlines this Saturday, but doubt thats going to make any difference, but should make the car not sit so high!

Crossing my fingers!!!

What do you guys think now? Looks alot beter, but I think I'm going to have to roll the fenders a little!

I think it looks complete badass.

(Tim Taylor grunt)

I know you have a long way to go Dave but something tells me you'll be knocking on the evil eagles back door just when we all thought he was going to knock on sheps door.

(but you'll be doing it with a holset, Which it will cost about half as much):p

Ultimate goal with the car is just breaking into the 8's. Of course that's going to take some different internals as well as a larger turbo (HX52 most likely), something that just isn't in the cards financially at this time.

Everyone involved with the build as well as Dave's family and friends are just so pleased with how well the project has worked out so far- we're happy Dave's still 100% into it at this point considering how many times he wanted to part the car out last year with the oil pump failure and driveshaft issues. If you guys are planning on going to the shootout this year I HAVE TO MEET YOU THREE!!!!!! This car just amazes me exspecially for how simple it is. I've seen way more radical buiuld for guys just to run twelves. I even look at my car and think its overbuilt for my goals considering a 16g does it just as well. Keep up the good work!!!!
