WOOHOO. Jump on the band wagon. I dont think ive seen true track results with an hx52 yet. Mine should be done shortly if I ever get these oil pan studs and oil drain and downpipe made. LOL Ive been slacking big time. Very good runs though. I wish I would have bought slicks for the hx35 and seen what that thing really would have done. Im afraid to air down these dunlop direzza Z1 star specs to low. Theres just not much sidewall to them(bad choice on my part 245/40R17). With 20 psi in them they look flat.

Hell yea, can't wait to slap on a Hx52, with a JMF topmount!!! I think Justin already picked me one up, or is in the prosses of it!

Trust me, a HX35 in a t3 .70ar housing will be going on the car before the end of the season, in hopes of a 10.4 or faster!!!

Good luck. We will battle for the hx52 record!!! LOL.

HaHa Thanks! You're alot farther ahead of me with the HX52 setup, so you will have the record first, but I will soon take it from you next year!!!:p

I want all three records, HX35, 40, and 52 all at the same time!!! That would be awesome! But I'm happy with just the 40 record..

Good luck to you too!

I might try to go for HX-52 record, but my car won't be done for at least 2 years.

Shit two years, I will probably be in the 8s with the Hx52 by then! I'm also going to get a shep dogbox and better suspension this winter/spring 2012!

You will need street tires to truely beat my record!!! Everybody close has slicks.

The only thing street tires will do for Dave at this point is result in even higher trap speeds- do you really want that to happen? LOL

Just think- if he trapped 145 floating down the track on 15psi in giant balloon slicks, what will he trap with 44psi in stiff-walled street tires?

You would think a street tire would show slower 60ft times and end results. But were also talking about the 35 record not the 40.

He's already trapped 144.94 on the HX40 with a 2.0 60ft leaving the line completely out of boost....how much could street tires really hurt?

The car was moving on the 10.44 @ 144.94 run....that one actually impressed me more than the 145.07 run. Take the 2.0 60ft which happened that pass and factor in his average 60ft times of last year being a 1.6 or 1.5, and there's your 9-second pass.

I guess everyone should just run street tires. Since theres no advantage to them. LOL. All Im saying is I could have got better times on slicks as I spin all through first gear.

Hes saying, how much could it hurt with street tires, compared to the bad launch with the slicks!

The advantage to slicks is traction resulting in a better launch. Once you're on your way in an AWD welded center diff car there's not much slicks are going to help- they're actually going to hurt you by absorbing the power that is reaching the ground...hence the reason we do not see slicks begin used on cars that are on the dyno.

If you still don't believe that slicks rob you of power that is reaching the ground, try dropping all four tires on whatever vehicle you drive everyday to 10psi and driving for a week, then note how your fuel economy suffers. Lower tire pressure requires more fuel / more power to maintain the same speeds that you could achieve with a higher tire pressure.

My point is that Dave threw the benefit of slicks giving him traction on the launch out the window on the 2.0 60ft run and still trapped 145mph with slicks. On street tires I could expect that to still be a 2.0 60ft run but with 150+mph as more power would be reaching the ground once the car was moving.

Isn't the rotational mass of a radial a ton more than a slick? I'd think that alone would negate some of the power loss due to low pressure slicks. IMO one would want to run a tall narrow slick with a decent amount of pressure in them to get the best of both worlds.

OK ok. I get you. LOL. So come get my record. HAHAHA. With my luck you'll smash it.

We're going to try after the shootout, I may even take the street tires up with us, and change them in the middle of my runs and see how it does! Nothing will be changing untill after the shootout, so you have it till then:sneaky:..

Sounds like a good time to me. Now get back out there and hit 9's with that 40!

Come on Dave quit toying with us an run a 9sec run already LOL. Just playing, car looks awesome and hauls a**. I wish I wasnt at retarded high elevation so I could attempt to chase the hx35 record with one of Justin's turbos, that is until you throw one on your car

Trust me, I would be at the track every week trying to get that 9s pass If it wasn't so exspensive for me to go! My funds are low this month, so it looks like the next time I'm able to go to the track again, is around the first week of July!:barf:

Yea I am going to be low on funds to for awhile, kind of got in trouble with the cops. So got to pay the lawyer and hopefully not lose my damn license. Live and learn I guess just sucks
