Yes I believe many 95-96 RS models didnt have a spoiler. But, if all else fails, just have them welded shut, sanded smooth and repainted. Thats what I did. :thumb: Sometimes you just gotta spend the $.

I did it to my 1g,their are 9 holes in a hatch on a 1g talon turbo.Hada guy weld it up in exchange for a cup of coffee.I lightly filled them w/ filler.Having the whole car painted in a couple of weeks.

:thumb: :talon:

Ok, i got quoted for filling all of the holes from the stock talon spoiler, after market ricey alluminum wing holes, and front licence plate holes (13 holes total) filled/welded closed and painted for $325.00 is this a good price? let me know what you think. :thumb: :talon:

i think its a pretty good price. alot of people have gotten quotes around 1000$ to get the hatch holes filled. does your price include painting?

That's pretty damned good, especially for out here. Have you seen the shop's work?

yeah i have seen some of there work, its decent. I got the hook up because my coworker is like good friends with the main guy there. :thumb: :talon:

I had a 2g turbo wing installed after removal of the stock 3 piece, which left a few holes, and all painting/welding came out to 1000 bucks....sounds like an awesome deal if you know it will be quality :thumb:

I filled holes temporarily with JB weld. Could turn out to be permanent.

so i removed my Evo VI wing and i'm about to apply the JDM spoiler. i drilled 6 holes in my trunk for the old spoiler, but the new one doesn't even get close to the holes, so i have to patch them up. i used bondo, but my trunk was wet inside this morning (it rained last night) so that's not working. how the hell can i fill these holes up? they're about 1/8" wide in diameter, and the car's getting painted in a few weeks, so it doesn't matter how it looks, as long as it's smooth and completely fills up the hole. thanks

Take it to a body shop and have them welded shut, or do it yourself if you can. Bondo is not gonna cut it here. :p

When I shaved over the holes from my spoiler and radio antenna, I welded metal on the underside of the trunk and filled the hole up with bondo on the top. I haven't had any leaking problems at all...If you have everything sanded and covered properly, it shouldn't leak. Spray some primer over it to see if you missed a spot.

Your best bet is to weld the holes shut. If the holes are big enough that you need to make a filler piece, make it so that it will sit flush with the rest of the body. Then weld it in. When you weld make sure not to get the weld too hot or you will warp the trunk. Do a weld and then wait until it cools and do another. THe reason I stress making it sit flush is because in time body filler will shrink and you will be able to see an outline.

hey guys,
I want to get rid of my big spoiler and move on to being wingless OMG :thumb: and to answer future questions, YES i do know the proper way is to get it welded and repainted, but I don't have the drive to spend that much money on an exterior mod.

Now, my friend's 2ga eclipse just recently got an evo wing on his car and the shop provided him with some plugs for the stock holes. does anyone know where I can get them? I don't have my laptop witht he caps program on it, so I cant look it up.

thanks

I dont know how the caps program is going to help you with this, but you may want to try going to that same body shop and asking if they will sell you plugs for your car. Either that, or go to a hardware store and buy plugs to put in there.

easy on the wing jokes :tease: haha

and, I spoke to him today and he told me those were OEM body plugs for where they used a screw (plastic guides), that's why I mentioned CAPS...

if anyone has any other suggestions before I get my laptop back that would great.. thanks!
