My 1990 was doing the same thing a while back...It got a little annoying, so I took the door panels off one day and watched the lock mechanism while locking the doors to make sure there weren't any broken pieces...Everything seemed to be functioning OK, so I just sprayed a little WD40 (nectar of the Gods) on there, and honestly, it's never done it again......

Either I've been lucky, or I fixed the problem.
Further proving the theory that you can fix almost anything on a DSM with either zip ties, duct tape, a 10mm socket, or WD40...

first someone smashed my passenger window. now when i try to lock my doors with or without the factory remote, the passenger door still won't lock. i searched for threads looking for clues, explanations......nothing. the window has not been replaced yet and by the way, where the hell is the alarm arming light or whatever green light those threads mentioned? HELP!

whem my car got broken into alot of the glass shard fell into the door and got stuck under the cable that prevented it from moving. I ended up having to take the door panel off and vacuuming them all up and manually locking unloclking the door for about 20min to get all the shard of glass lodged loose from under the cable.

as it turns out i have the same problem....glass in the assembly. i'm off work thursday-saturday so it's gotta be done before i get my new glass in there. today i'm looking for some how-to thread with pictures i found last week because i'm not goin in blind. any assistance would be greatly appreciated. thanks

hello i just bought a 97 gst and the power door locks did'nt work ..i have tried everything fuses relay's motors....i hooked up a test light to the motor and pushed to open and close no juice..any idea what it can be

If its a 2g there is a pin connector in the door jam, see if you have power there.
My connector must have been pulled out at one time and the power wire pin was broken off. I had to run a new #14 power wire around the connector. buy the manual on CD. thats where i found it.

Try removing your door panels (takes 5 min) and check if all connections to your switches are secure. I know when they arent, the power windows on both sides wont work even if only one side isnt connected. Maybe the same goes for the power locks as well. GOOD LUCK!

My friend has that same problem but the driver side dosen't work.

Actually my power locks (both sides) work just fine...its the keyhole on the outside of the drivers door that doesnt work/turn even though the key goes in.

Back to the topic I would say check your wires and make sure everything is connected, like some have already said.

well mine dosen'ty work either , so i was told by the previous wner that they had an alarm installed and when he removed it it was hooked up to the door locks and inadvertainly dissabled them on disconnection...

Hello all,
I am obviously new to this forum. I have a 95 Eclipse GS and i have the following problems, my electric door locks are not working. I press the button from the inside and I can see that they try to move but they do not lock. Also my interior lights only come on sometimes when I open the doors. Most of the time they do not. How can I fix this. And last, my security light comes on once in a blue moon while locking up my vehicle. This I assume is my security system and would like it to work, any suggestions?

Hey i have the same problem with my 99 gst if u hold the unlock button it usually unlocks it after the third try and lockin it usually only locks my passenger side the security light on my car comes on when i hit unlock then lock like twice... if any one can help us that would be great

Hey! That problem sound REALLY familar!

On mine, though... before, they'd both wiggle a little. So I took off my door panels, peeled off the clear plastic liner and then I sprayed silicone lubricant all throughout the door locks. Then, just in case, I took some lithium grease, stuck my key in it, and worked it in the locks. It works now, but my passenger side works only occationally. My driverside works all the time, which is really wierd.

Try that maybe?

hey everyone, I know there have been a few posts on this subject but none that i found directly related to the one I have, and i wasnt able to find much to help me with it, so i hope this is not a a repost...

When im on the driver side, and i push the door lock button, the passenger side door locks and the driver side doesnt. When i push unlock, the driver side does not move and the passenger side does. However, when I move the lock over manually, the passenger side locks as well. It appears that the drivers side is stuck, and in another post i saw that someone said that silicone lubricant will loosen it if it is stuck, but I was just wondering if anyone had a similar problem or solution to it...thanks

It sounds like its stuck to me as well. Take a peek in there and see what you find.

Ya thats what I figured, and i took the panel off and the plastic to see if there was something blocking it or anything but everything looks fine, so i tried moving the lock back and forth a few times to see if the cord that pulls and pushes the lock was stuck, and that seems to be where to problem is, yet i still see nothing that looks wrong, so im not really sure where the problem is...any help would be great...thanks

I am a new member but have had my car for 3 years now.... when i first bought my car it was only lockin and unlockin the passenger side door but then as i got a new alarm and eventually both doors started to unlock perfect.. but if i let my car sit for more then 3 days cause i set it up for show so sometime it doesnt get driven the drivers side door will not unlock then i have to climb in the passenger side and unlock the drivers side manuallycause my drivers side lock cylinder is froze
