Haha Wret,I noticed yours was like this too in a thread awhile back...it looks really good.

I have had an internal amplified antenna installed since a few days after I got the car,I disconnected the power to the antenna till I removed it a few weeks ago.

Thank you,I custom made those out of aluminum with a dremel.;)

I may try to spray a few smaller spots this morning on the hood where I shaved the wiper squirters, see how the pearl goes.

When you shaved those panels did you weld anything? Or did you use bondo? either way it looks very nice man tight job:thumb:

We sanded down around the holes real good with 120 grit and then dented them in a bit to give the bondo something to sit on top of.We then taped the back of the holes and put the bondo on in 4 layers or so sanding mostly with 120...think we broke out the 80 grit once.

For the bigger antenna hole we used fiberglass strand filler in the same way.

If I can get a chance this weekend I'm going to paint the trunk and quarter panels...I've had the paint sitting for over a month but I just don't have access to a paint booth and the primer is really starting to annoy me.Should have the turbo spoiler coming soon so I gotta get on the ball.

i was going to take off my spioler. but i was wondering what are my best options for taking care of the holes that will be left in my hatch from the bolts that hold the spoiler on. and is there a non-permnent way to do it if i everwant to put it back on?? -thanks

When I converted my spoiler I had to use a plate and weld the big holes shut; then bondo and metal glaze, and then paint. Unfortunately I don't think there is a way, a clean way, to cover up those holes without looking wierd. My buddy takes his spoiler off his Evo because he gets bored sometimes. He lives in chicago and he just tapes off the holes. The holes still have quite a bit of oxidation on them, but thats the consequences of removing the spoiler.

Why do you want to remove the spoiler anyways? Which one do you have?

You can get little black platic plugs at autozone that look better than tape. Just tell them what you are doing and they can help you.

Not gonna put the turbo spoiler on it....Like it wingless too much and I'll post a few pics tomarrow.

That thread has been deleted apparently so here are some pics.

Hey i have a 96' gst. i didnt like the 3 piece wing so i took it off and dont plan on putting a wing back on it. but here is my problem, i now have all of those holes where all the screws go. what is the simplist way to fix this without taking it to a shop? somebody get back at me. thanx.

joe

OR you could drive around with duck tape over it, but then your inviting the world to laugh at you LOL. Sooo like everyone said above try that and if your unable to, you will have to take it to the shop and have someone do all that for you.

I took the wing off my talon for a while and stuck those yellow foam ear plugs in the holes for a quick fix. looked ugly but it worked.

hahahaha earplugs, at least it wasnt toilet paper ROFL

..but to add, you can try just using bondo, sand...ect or tape up the wholes before you bondo? if youre going to ghetto style, but after sand paint clear, it should look okay. just may be less work

i took my wing off and put electrical tape dsto cover it up (black tape, black car) then it seems outta nowhere, everyone is driving a 2G eclipse GST or GSX with the wing...and now i want it back on.....

I have been thinking about several ways to fill in the holes left from the 3 piece spoiler.
I was wondering if any one has tried to use some expanding foam on the underside of the holes,
to use so that the bondo, or JB Weld has something thing to stick too?
It is just a thought because I'm in the process of sanding and priming right now.
I only have some tape covering the holes so that water doesn't get in.

Well I know that there is a lot of threads on this but I just wanted to show every one what I did and how it came out so far.
I used an two part epoxy to fill the holes, (link to the actual epoxy at bottom).
I used a hammer and dented the holes in a little, so I could fill them in with the epoxy and sand it smooth. I have only done one side, but I am happy with the results so far.
We'll just have to see how well it holds up over time, I felt a little weary of using an epoxy instead of welding in the holes. But this stuff says on the package for use on auto body filling holes etc.

The top picture is the side that I haven't done yet, and the bottom is the side I used the epoxy on.
The holes still need a little body filler to smooth it out.
Any one ever use Dolphin body filler? That is what the guy at the auto paint shop recommended.
