Could be anything from a loose battery terminal to internal engine damage, and literally everything in between which may involve the electrical, fuel, and ignition system...possibly even something that you screwed up while working on the car yourself. I live in Canada and right now its not very warm out, about -30c
my car does not have a block heater too keep it warm.

I tryed to start my car this morning and it wouldent start, ive had this problem before but this time, the car doesnt crank at all it just makes a sound that sounds like an electric drill.

Whats wrong.

I am working on a 1999 GST Spyder, replacing top and interior... only owned the car 6 weeks... its manual tranny.... replaced battery last week... car always starts fine. I started it is morning and let it run, took the convertible top down. Spend 5 hours working on interior, put in new carpet blah blah...
went to put top back up and stop for the day, and I always crank car and let it run a minute...well it wont start now... lights come on, top went up fine... but it wont crack... I hear a clicking in the dash, sounds like a relay... but nothing

Any thoughts?
Odd that this happened out of nowhere.
I searched threads and was reading about the clutch safety switch.... could that be the issue??

Sounds like the battery got drained. Check voltage on battery.

Sounds like the battery. Check it's voltage and if it's ok then check/clean/replace the connectors. Also check for loose grounds. You might have knocked a wire loose some place while working on the car.

Yea. It could be the clutch safety switch. You probably should check that first....

I agree with this as same thing happen to me, clicking noise behind radio and wouldn't start. Unplugged clutch safety switch and fired right up.

Id check with the css first also then battery. If non of that works it could be ur starter also. I had the same problem a couple weeks ago

All fuses are good
It just died immediately
Starter shakes the whole car belts turn
And no check engine light
I work at Oriellys how do i know which ecu to get the system list about 10

I'm getting spark fuel and compression earlier my car is having problems starting one day when I went to wash my car it didn't want to start again my car was spraying oil on the wiring harness maybe that's whats causing the problem but not sure need help my car is a 95 gst

All these electronics usually won't work right after getting wet like washing the engine bay. Where is the oil coming out from make sure all sensors are plugged in. Double check it all.

The oil was coming from the bolt on my cylinder head the timing is spot on

Water got inside the spark plug wires.take them off and dry and the spark plugs and are your injectors pulsing if not check the coolant temp sensor

How can the coolant temp senser cause my issue

Do you have an open air filter and got that wet? Or a wet coil pack? You checked your spark, but was it a strong spark or a weak one? If it was running before you washed the motor, then it's something stupid. Let it dry out.

I didn't wash my Engine just the body and buffed out the carbon fiber hood and when I went to move my car it didn't start I thought it was because I was on a hill I backed my car up and it still didn't start

Oh I gotcha. Did it start up yet? Like said above, it could be the coolant sensor going bad. It's sending a false reading to the ecu and screwing with your fuel and ignition timing

How do you know your getting fuel? Or is it just injector pulse you have, what about fuel pressure? Is the pump actually working? Can you pull any codes from ecu?

I disconnected the fuel line from the fuel rail and I have my dad bring the key is pumping fuel I'm game if you want my combustion chamber 1 2 3 looks like four is a bit dry
