My back is slowly getting better (the less I work........waiting on my fuel injectors right now). I got the GD lawn mower stuck last night :f-u:, in the ditch, so today, the ole back is not doing its best, but up until then I was feeling pretty dam good for a change, thanks Jeremy!

Ditto Marty, was doing better the last couple weeks. Then yesterday the daughter was stuck on the side of the road with a flat, thought everything was fine, but apparently mine didn’t even want to do that and now I’m down again. So much for working on the car this weekend.

We both suffer though it, as much as possible. I had to toss down 2 Tylenol when I got home from work today and it has helped, but the ache isn't gone. :thumb:

Surprise Saturday!!!!!
The door bell rang and I figured it was the mail lady, and look what she had!!! :thumb::D;)
MY NEW INJECTORS!!!
HURRAY!!!!
I can't wait to open up the box, it's CHRISTMAS LOL.
Now....if the dam Post Office will quit screwing around with the injectors I SENT IN FOR CLEANING......They have been stuck in Tulsa for 4 dam days. Better not loose them, you incompetent fools......:nono:
No wonder I am getting out in a month. YAY!
Marty 😁

Yes sir it CERTAINLY DOES :hellyeah::applause: :f-u:
I will start my 35th YEAR August 11th. I will NOT finish it or even that month. I will finally have time with family at Thanksgiving, Christmas etc. I haven't had a vacation in over 20 years.
IT IS ABOUT TIME for ME time!
I won't have as much disposable income, but I deserve the FREEDOM.
Working 6 days a week, I don't know HOW I get any car work done. I fell asleep this afternoon when I got home so tomorrow will be fuel injector Day. I have quite a story leading up to that too, so I'll save that for tomorrow's update.
"Stay Tuned".....
Marty :)

Okay, I got my nap in, my second wind, so I went out and installed the new injectors. The "issue" I was speaking of in the prior post was that I got a cleaning brush stuck in the GD fuel rail. I fought it and FINALLY got the dam thing out. I have a small fuel leak on my return AN fitting and a vacuum leak at the TB where it mates to the JMF intake. I will have to check out what the deal is there, BUT......
IT RUNS, AGAIN! :thumb:
It's a good feeling.
Marty

Wow well that's awesome! That's a major upgrade to not have to work anymore. I think we are all going to enjoy it - you being retired.

I'll still be HERE. This is my family social media spot, :) 😍, a place where I feel appreciated and that makes me smile!
Like "CHEERS" and "Norm" ROFL

I probably should amend my last statement and you would call me "Cliff", the mailman, ROFL , but nobody called out HIS name when he came in. ROFL

In true DSM fashion, I have a few bugs to iron out, although nothing has changed between the 2 different motors. My cooling fans are not coming on, my timing light was giving me FITS trying to set the base timing, but it is close. I am letting her cool down then I'll see if I can figure put why the fans aren't grounding and coming on (I assume it is the sensor, but ya never know on a DSM). She is running pig rich so I need to get the computer out there and see about leaning out the mix, globally. I sure wanted to go drive her today but it is what it is and I caught myself getting in a hurry lore than once today, so I called it a day and popped a beer. I'll go back out later. Those 280R cams sound pretty rumpity!

The Talon with her vacuum leak fixed. This is MUCH better. I'll feel better when I get the fans figured out. I probably forgot something simple as it seems like it isn't grounding to turn on the fan relays.
She is running VERY rich, so I need to get the computer out there and lean her out. She was running in the 11's and I smell like fuel now. :idontknow: That's OK with me!
Thanks for watching!

The Kelford 280R's sound nice!

iI went back out yesterday and was going to start the car for my best friend and the car didn't want to run on all 4 but its AFR's were 10 something, so I pulled the plugs and they are all fine, not rich looking. I need to do a free air calibration on the LC2 and start over. Crossing Fingers I can get her back on all 4, she got a little warm when we were fiddling with the base timing (fans didn't come on) so I let her just sit and cool down. My son said the temp gauge was just between the E and the M on the "TEMP" guage, so I don't feel like she got to hot and it didn't push any coolant into the reservoir. Just hoping I can get her more dialed in and running decent, but it will have to wait again. Our heat indexes are at 110* all week long and I am not getting heat stroke.

I have to give our Supporting Vendor a shout out.
Fuel Injector Clinic did me right. I sent them my older set and also bought a new set, so they comped me on the cleaning and only charged me for the rush service that I paid for and the ONE injector, that just didn't flow good enuf to match, so they are matching my old set with one new one, cleaned all of the old ones and charged me just over $250 + s/h.
I feel like that is worth mentioning, that if you buy new and send in old, they will clean your old injectors for free and just charge you for shipping back.
These were the 2150s out of the other motor that had sat for almost a year and were stuck.
Thanks FIC!!! :thumb:
I sure appreciate you!
Marty

She is running on all 4 now! I need to adjust the fuel pressure down and do some FINE tuning. I just leaned her out massively in ECMLINK and got her running close to stoich (14.1). It is good enough to MOVE but I need to get the fans working for safety of the new motor, then work on a few other small things.
I would LOVE to drive it to work before I retire, but that may be rushing things!
Marty
If you watch/listen til the end, give me your thoughts on why the turbo is making noise when she winds down. I have more turbos, but this one has no in/out play and just a tad of side play so it "seems" fine. :hmm:

I agree Pat. It has never ever sounded like that. It spins fine and no play but it hasn't spun hard yet. When I started it for my best friend, I asked him if the dam turbo was spinning and he said "Oh yeah". It has just never had a spool down sound before. I will be checking it out as I tried to remove the HCRA and couldn't get it to budge so I put the bolts back into the straps and tightened it up. I will loosen them again, maybe after a heat cycle and tap lightly with a deadblow to make sure she is seated in the O2 housing, which is all I can thing of that changed at all in that area. I appreciate the feedback!

Well when I got home from work today, I messed around with little things and test started her a few times. I don't have a good mounting point for the coil packs so they will hang out there on the strut bar for now.
She still needs tune work and I'll get to that just as soon as possible!
Here is a short clip from this morning.....she sounds good at least. Maybe I can get a short drive and log in tomorrow before it gets HOT 🔥 🥵

The tune was wacky today (IDK why). Mine usually fire up with no need to touch the throttle. It bounced around on AFRs between adjustments and I need to do a BLT to see if I have any couplers or my compressor cover are leaking. More to come. It does drive and once warmed up, it drives and shifts smooth. I forgot how On/Off the twin disk was, ROFL

TOTALLY 💯.......:thumb:ROFL
I sense some outrageous videos will be needed (still crossing fingers). :hmm:
