They have their place. Unsurpassed durability for race-only turbos that are given proper oil pressure and type....but not the best for an OEM turbo at all. I've seen them fail in as little as 500 miles if they're not given the proper oil type or pressure. In most cases, when oiled properly, they don't even have one trace of wear upon disassembly.How do you feel about steel thrust plates? In general?
It's best to get an idea of what the customer is doing with the setup and go from there when deciding to use an aftermarket or upgraded thrust system.
Nice find! Could be an awesome way to sneak some more flow out of a TD05H turbine on a particular setup...and a GREAT way to complement that FP 71HTA CHRA linked above.There's a 11.5cm hotside on ebay. I have no idea how good it is, just make sure you get one that matches your turbine wheel.
