Good question for PTE- I have no clue seeing as they don't use Garrett GT cartridges. Sadly, they probably don't have a clue either.im picking up a 6152 BB with bolt on housing, what type of oil feed should i be using?

Ideal, actually.Justin, 20G feed from the ofh with a .78 restrictor is ok?

Definitely not the HY35 if your desired boost is under 22psi. I'm figuring a simple 20G upgrade would fit the bill with an option of going to a billet wheel for better spool and/or efficiency.
Holy balls, I can see the exducer tip.
Either that's not a 20G wheel, the housing was machined wrong, or someone's using a 20G compressor behind a cover that's cut for something larger like a Frank 20G or FP Green compressor.
Thats what I originally thought, just the spring getting weaker. I think its time to throw the manual boost contoller on.
Spring is worn. Use a MBC to bring it back to where it was...but don't plan on running above double the amount the spring is rated at.What can all cause boost pressure off the wastegate to drop? Back in january my friend got his 240 tuned at 13psi straight off the wastegate. Nothing has changed since then, but now it only hits 10psi. Its running straight off the wastegate, no boost controller. Its a tial external wastegate. We checked for boost leaks and vacuum leaks and everything is fine.
Comp is the successor of Innovative Turbo, which were primarily garbage. Any time an aftermarket company designs their "own" journal bearing turbos that are based on a Garrett T3 center housing, reliability tends to suffer (Precision, Turbonetics, Master Power, etc).Hey Justin: Comp CT3 line turbos, whattya think of em? Can they be rebuilt? The JB versions, of course. Ive heard good things but i wanted to ask you first. Im still leaning towards built hx40 but the selection of comp turbos is great and the price is nice too. After a rebuild, the right comp wheel and a turbine housing the holset would cost damn near as much as a JB comp.
WTFHey justin, what do you think about the hx40 vs the 3794hta, they seem to spool the similarly but 3794 is quite a bit more beastly. I know its not really apples to apples with the 67.5mm compressor... but im curious Just kinda dreaming about what could be next someday.
Ball bearing cartridges drain such little oil that I'm sure it's larger than necessary, but I don't see how it would hurt anything unless your crankcase pressure is off the charts.Maybe a more important question, is a -12 drain too much for a bb garrett? I wouldnt think so. But you never know. Ive still got everything to run a bb turbo fed off the head.
I knownits not apples to apples but it still spools the closely. There are upgrades tothe 40 that put it in close shoes with the 37r... Lol
