Questions for Justin...

20G compressor, TD06 turbine...but the turbine housing is cut for a TD06H turbine judging by the gap between the housing and wheel. You either need a turbine housing to fit this turbo, or you need to upgrade the turbine to a TD06H while you're replacing the compressor.

Justin have you ever seen a 60-1 wheel attached to a TD06sl2 turbine before??

You think that combo would work on a street car?? I just aquired a turbo that I thought was an old school FP red but after measurments the turbine is definitly a sl2.

I recently picked up a freshly rebuilt Borg Warner 88-75 from a friend for a great deal. The turbo came with a T4 divided 1.00 turbine housing and an open T4 .88 housing. After some test fitting, the T4 manifold I was intending to run is pretty much trash.

Since T3 manifolds are far more abundant and generally cheaper I thought I'd just swap out turbine housings and run it T3 instead.

My question is, is this the correct turbine housiung to convert it to T3? I can read the page just fine but really wanted confirmation it was the right part before I decided to pull the trigger on it: S300sx T3 .70 a/r Turbine Housing - Full-Race.com

Thanks for any help!!

Thats a bullseye power .70 AR. Says BEP on the casting. Should be correct, or you can get it from BEP themselves.

Yea I noticed that when I looked at the picture as well...would it be cheaper through BEP? I'm having a hard time finding the same product on their site LOL....and thanks

Poor. The TD06H was used for a reason when paired to this compressor. You'll likely have surge issues and/or run into an airflow wall before the compressor reaches peak flow.

As long as you're sure yours is an 88-75 and you select the correct turbine wheel option when buying the housing, there's no reason it wouldn't work.

Buy from Bullseye- eliminate the middle man.

Alright Justin, my turn to be that guy. My friends got this .50 trim turbo. Any idea how much it'd cost for new wheels and a complete rebuild parts? I didn't get a chance to measure the wheels, just took some pics. I'm assuming its not gonna be worth the cost...

There is no such thing as a half of a trim turbo. Actually, "trim" numbers doesn't mean shit outside of the Garrett T04E series...it's just a way for Garrett to label a series of compressor with the same exducer spec.

It's either a GT3071R or GT3076R....you can't buy a turbine or internals for this series of turbo, and the only way you can swap compressors is if you get the assembled CHRA balanced on a VSR following the compressor swap.

So unless the compressor wheel is the only thing that needs replaced, you'll basically need a new CHRA. Expect to pay $800+.

Do you know the max airflow the sl2 turbine can support?
Depends on the size of the turbine housing....but I'd anticipate low-to-mid 50's using a 7cm DSM housing.

Ok so I'm looking for a evo 9 turbo to replace my worn out evo 8 turbo. What is the best one to look for? Also, what is all different besides the 10.5 hot side? Where would be a good place to look other than evom and ebay. Thanks!

They're all the same to my knowledge.

Comparing which two, the Evo VIII and IX turbos? Compressor cover is bigger, turbine housing is bigger, and the wastegate actuator is different on the IX turbo. Rotating assembly and internals are the same.

I don't have cash to start paying fp thousands for a upgrade. I will be happy with a 9 turbo and some 272s for now i have everything else for a solid setup.

Alright thanks! I was told of a 05 evo 8MR that came with the 10.5 housing. They called it an evo 8.5 turbo. That must be bs.

Those were from the MR/GSR's I believe; definitely not your standard production Evo VIII turbo (#49378-01520). Makes no real difference as the wheel specs are the same across the board.

That is crazy how the rotating assemblies are the same. Good to know. I see larger comp covers and 20g wheels for sale all the time for the 8/9 turbo. I wonder how much that would flow. If it would be worth doing that and picking up the 10.5 housing. should be cheaper than finding a 9 turbo. It would also get you some more business haha.

All '05 EVOs had the VIII style comp housing and center housing with the 10.5cm hotside. You could always pick one of these up and stick it in your existing turbine housing:
