My DSM needed a new battery, so I decided to switch to lithium and whip up a prototype mount for it. Very weight conscious, it runs a separate tray and gel vibration isolator pad.

ATX-30 Battery alone: 5 lb, 7 oz
Complete mount: 2 lb, 2 oz
Noco Charger: 3 lb, 0 oz

I liked the idea of the charger going with the car, being that it requires a specific charger. So the mount allows for a Noco Genius 10 charger to bolt directly to it. It can be used with or without the charger mounted.

This Anti Gravity battery boasts 880 cranking amps and has RESTART Technology (built-in jump-starting) so you won’t ever get stranded with a dead battery. Should protect it from excessive discharging which is good for me because this car tends to sit for long periods of time.

The hatch area on my DSM was crusty. CRUSTY. I finally made time to clean it up. I started with a good degreasing (a quart of oil had previously leaked back there) and then I laid down some sound deadening. I installed the OE floor supports and then added a 1x2 aluminum extrusion on top of those to gain clearance over the fuel tank hump in the floor. Next was to cut out some aluminum floor panels and add rivnuts to bolt them down. I used .125” thick aluminum and it’s very strong, so I should be able to hold a ton of groceries on it. 😉 I originally intended for the floor to be a single piece but quickly learned that the only way to install and uninstall it would be in halves. I added more sound deadening onto the underside of the bolt-in floor just to make sure I don’t get weird vibration noises through it from the rearend. Wire clean-up, new grounds, carpet, and got my new battery mounted. I’m very happy with how this turned out.

Pro tip: If you order automotive carpet and it shows up folded with heavy creases, use a clothing iron with a steam setting. The creases come out easily and does not damage the carpet.

I just got a set of 3D Creations bushings to rebuild a spare shifter. I used them before, when they first came out and have loved the way they change the shifter feel. You will love yours too! :thumb:

I didn't realize how worn my old one was until I removed it. I can already tell this is going to be a huge improvement. I haven't driven on it yet, but there's no play in the shifter anymore and it moves so much smoother.

Lookin' fancy! No wire loom though? :p

Lookin' fancy! No wire loom though? :p
You know, I almost loomed it all last night and didn't get to it for some unknown reason. But I do think I'll eventually do that. I redid all of the loom in the engine bay a couple months back and I couldn't believe how well that cleaned up the appearance.

I don't want to clutter the thread, but thank God for all of the vendors and freelancers that help support our platform (yes You Paul, and all of the others). I was rebuilding my shifters with milk jug plastic before our 3D printing stuff caught ahold! :thumb:

I love it paul your car looks better in person for those who havent seen it, can you modifiy the battery bracket. I have a large battery long story, i do need to work on my trunk over a while .
