Here's mine I did about a year ago. It's paint matched to the car. It took me a while, but I think it came out alright.

just the base layer (flat black), masked everything off, then the top coat (silver)
 
I like that purple LOL. Still need to get one done. I don't know what color would go with my car
 
did anybody find a place where the spark plug covers in metal are cheap. i have only found a couple and they are all rediculusly expensive. please send me some help or if some one is looking to sell a metal polishd one im buying
 
I am slightly confused...If your gonna paint it yourself do you mask off the letters and stuff or do you just ice the whole thing one color and then sand and polish the letters and stuff that you want back silver?
 
i degreased and cleaned mine up real nice so it looked brand new the put down 2 layers of ground coat. then two layers of metalic blue paint waited for it to dry for a day then saned the letters off polished them with polish and a dremel. after that i applied a clear coat fairly heavily. and it came out awsome

pics don't do this thing justice it's almost candy highgloss blue color. A friend of mine did this for me since he was ashamed what I had on there before( I tried at least LOL)
