No cutting of the car or center console is needed. Reusing the factory retainers it snap in place like factory, and is wraped in a black sheep skin. To keep the wrap from being chafed on when placing and removing drinks I made a insert. Now to get this part shinny I get to play with chemicals. ABS and ASA plastics react to acetone. To get the insert shine gloss black , you use a process called vape smoothing.

Looks friggin' great! Well done.

Roughly 20 rolls ASA plastic later and countless prototypes later I'm finally happy with the double barrel drink holder. This is just the unfinished (in the raw solid ASA) no switch holes. Again no mods to the center console or the car are needed. You do have reuse your factory clips

I might have stumbled on a path for a prototype. Im interested in rasberry pie for ecm link threads from years ago. I noticed people using touch screens and miniature keyboards and such. And I wonder why not a mouse style controler like modern cars have to contol thier infotainment system. Well to use a controller (mouse)from other cars is kinda expensive . Then I stumbled across this. What if you use a Xbox 1 controller break it down to few basics. Like a thumb controler and maybe a few buttons. Its compatible with pie . Just thinking out loud.

Touch screens can be quite cheap though, just need one with an embedded MCU or attach one to it. But I wonder what the end intentions would be...

Last night I started making mods to gps maps. Black base done
Orange will be main Hywys, and secondary hywys
White rds
Green dots destinations
Red dots acedents
Yellow dots construction
Bule dots detour

Navigation will not only be just for Navigation it will also be linked into my logs along with other stuff. G forces tire temps and pressures

Right now im just bench building programs.
