As the title says my goal for this car is to run 10's with the 50 trim while keeping the stock bottom end. I am going to try and do it on just boost. But I have a bottle waiting to go on the car and will put it on if need be to reach my goal. Once I reach that goal or the bottom end goes(whichever comes first) I am going to build the block and will add pictures from that to this thread also. I will be updating this thread as I do things to the car. Expect this thread to last a few months at least.

My ultimate goal for the car after I build the bottom end is to run low 10's on boost with a different turbo. Then I will add the bottle with a 75 shot and try to break 9's.

All comments or questions are welcomed.

How light do you think your car is? Gonna take it to the truck scale to get weighed?
Your goal is reasonable, but you will need it to be hella light weight, and probably drag radials to fight traction issues once you start hitten those low low 11s. Sorry if any of this was already covered, its been a while since I originally read this thread.

I have no idea of how much it weighs unfortunately. It does have more weight taken out than most cars though. There is a scale pretty close that I will be going to when it can be driven.

Thanks to v8s_are_slow and Auto RS T I am going to be running slicks. I was debating between slicks and drag radials and they both helped me decide with the information they provided.

After reading through the posts, I am excited to hear that it starts and runs. I wish you the best of luck, with enough determination, anything is possible, even 10's. It's funny, I have seen a 25k dollar paint job on a 8 second skyline, and it had the same model catchcan as you. Good choice in parts!
 
My new DSMLink cable is supposed to be here tomorrow. Once I get that I can figure out what is wrong with the idle and then start tuning the car.
 
If you get it tuned up in time you should bring it out to Rockingham this weekend. I'd love to see it run. :thumb:

If I can figure out the idle problem it should be tuned. And I might have found some rims to borrow. I planned on going but who knows. It really all depends on he rims. I can deal with the idle problem.
 
I got the new DSMLink cable a couple minutes ago. I looked at the dtc's to see if anything showed up from when I had it running. Turns out the wires were backwards on the coolant temp sensor. That is what was keeping it from starting by itself. Coolanttemp is reading -40 for some reason. The sensor is new but I guess it is bad.

The biss was keeping it from idleing. A couple turns out and it idled by itself.

Now, I have to take the waterpipe back off though. The spot where i had a guy weld it has a pin hole and is spraying coolant.:mad::cry:
 
Coolant temp sensor is fixed. I have to fix an exhaust leak at the downpipe gasket now. It is throwing off my wideband readings. I put a new gasket onit and it's still leaking. I guess I have to take off the downpipe and o2 housing and see if both flanges are straight. I might just have somebody weld the two together so I know there will never be any leaks.
 
You don't need the wire hooked up for that. The only thing the clutch wire has to be hooked up for is the nlts. Stutterbox and antilag go off of your speed sensor.
 
No updates right now. I am borrowing wheels this weekend off my friends mustang to tune it. I will try to get a short video up this weekend if I can find somewhere safe to play with it.
 
I drove it today for about 1 mile round trip(not insured). I must say, it moves pretty good for being at 15psi with no tune and a huge boost leak. My boost is at 15psi and boostest in dsmlink is reading 38psi because of the huge leak.

Because of that leak it says I am at 88% idc with my 1,000's. When I first saw the idc I was like, what the hell. Then I saw the boostest.

It's definitely not what I am used to (mid 10 second capable cars) but I think it moves good considering the situation.
