As the title says my goal for this car is to run 10's with the 50 trim while keeping the stock bottom end. I am going to try and do it on just boost. But I have a bottle waiting to go on the car and will put it on if need be to reach my goal. Once I reach that goal or the bottom end goes(whichever comes first) I am going to build the block and will add pictures from that to this thread also. I will be updating this thread as I do things to the car. Expect this thread to last a few months at least.

My ultimate goal for the car after I build the bottom end is to run low 10's on boost with a different turbo. Then I will add the bottle with a 75 shot and try to break 9's.

Thanks for the info. I thought I heard something like that awhile ago. So, your supposed to just put it on the inner sidewall and not the inner tread width?

I knew they were to keep them from spinning. I just wasn't sure if they were actually needed. I think I'm going to go by what v8s_are_slow said and go with the slicks.

I think I am going to go with the et streets. Mickey Thompson Performance Tires & Wheels My friend has them on his camaro and that thing launches pretty hard, I would think in the 1.4 60ft range. What do you guys think about these tires?

For the most part yes, you want the soap on the sidewall. That is where most of the air will leak out. If you want to see what I'm talking about, air up a slick and spray it with your boost leak testing mix of soapy water, I bet it will form some small bubbles on the outer wall of the tire. You can extend the soaping to the tread, I don't see a problem with that either, just remember a light coat only.

I've heard good things about the ET streets but this is also dominated by RWD cars.

I'm going to the track tonight, I will have a chat with the slick specialty store on the grounds. The guy working in there really knows his stuff, and I try to get all my tire work done there, he should have a suggestion.

Parts arrived from JNZ today. The car should be able to run this weekend. Now I just need to get the rims and tires. Then I can start tuning it.

The bottom end will be fine if you tune correctly. Lee went 10.0@133 in his auto awd here locally on a stock bottom end, we ran 10.40s on one but decided to go ahead and build the motor after that.

Some more thing I have taken out of the car:

Heater
Cut off the tube from the water pipe that goes toward the firewall and welded the hole shut.
A/c compressor bracket that bolts to the back of the block
A/c fuse box
Hacked the driver side motor mount bracket and took off the piece it bolts to on the front of the block.
Took out some wiring like for the washer pumps, a/c fuse box, etc.
Glove box

The car is almost ready for its first few passes. I am waiting on some parts that are being tig welded for me. They are supposed to be done on Wednesday. Once I get them it will be ready to run. Then I have to get some rims/tires to put on it. Right now I am going to try to find somebody I can borrow stock wheels from. I also have to find somebody I trust to drive the car for me. I broke my knee a few months ago and there is still quite a bit of pain in it. With it how it is I doubt I can drive it like I need to at the track. I wish it was my right knee then I would just nlts every shift.

All I have left now is to put the exhaust manifold and throttle cable on the car.

I'm dying to see the results of this. You shoulda gone with a carbon fibre water bottle as a catch can. Sheesh I thought you were trying to keep things light!

Are you looking at the two (coming from the PCV and valve cover breather) that go into one line and go into his homemade catch can (aka soda bottle) as shown in post #82

Yeah, snowboarder is almost right. They go into my homemade catch can (aka water bottle). He almost had it right.:D

Yea, super brainfart. I didn't even see the bottle when I posted that WTF

Won't start. The battery is beyond dead. I had jumper cables hooked up for like three minutes and then all it did was crank for like two seconds. I am getting a battery charger tomorrow for it.

Mine's feeling really good at 25 psi on pump right now. Big difference between 20 and 25 psi. Wanna get to the track as soon as possible. Going around 30 psi or so would feel really nice as well, I'm sure. Good luck with your setup there.

It has started today for the first time in about two years. I will have a short video up later. It has a idle problem but I am sure it is due to settings in the ecu from when I let my friend borrow it.

How light do you think your car is? Gonna take it to the truck scale to get weighed?
Your goal is reasonable, but you will need it to be hella light weight, and probably drag radials to fight traction issues once you start hitten those low low 11s. Sorry if any of this was already covered, its been a while since I originally read this thread.
