Not to ruin the thread but i cant see the last page for some reason no matter what i do LOL.. Im stuck on page 17

Well, I have some bad news for you guys. As much as I wanted it to happen, I'm not going to be able to dyno the car this year. The crack on one of the wastegate tubes has been fixed and braced. I don't expect to have any further issues with it. But, I do desperately need to get this stuff ceramic coated before it goes back onto the car. And I don't have the money for it right now. I won't be getting any overtime in at work for the next several months, so that really limits my disposable income (hobby money). Not to mention that I have a bathroom upstairs that needs to be remodeled, and I've been indulging in another (cheaper) hobby for the past month or so.

My cars have definitely taken the back burner for a while. I'll be covering them up for the winter. As soon as I start working overtime again, I sock some money aside and get the exhaust components coated and back on the car. I'll dyno it early spring of 2010. Sorry for making everyone wait even longer to see the dyno results. I really wanted to get it on the rollers this year, but my cards just didn't fall right for me.

On a positive note, I will have a handful of new things for the car by the time I fire her back up. I'll be re-doing my UICP to run speed density and to re-locate my BOV's. I'll also have a pretty trick valve cover and a cold-air carbon fiber intake tube for the 60-1.

Sounds like its going to be up to par for shows again eh,
How much is all this going to cost you to get coated? When you do send it out I would reinforce it very well considering all the weight on it, I could work up something with solidworks stress analysis maby? =)

Glad your smart enough not to build this car at the expense of your house. Clearly you will still have a captive audience when you re-open this thread in the spring.

I think everyone on dsmtuners just needs to paypal him one dollar so we can see the freaking dyno results LOL

I sure as hell would but I have my own car/project and lack of funds as well. Lol. Sucks cause I'd like to see his car going....but I wanna see mine running too.

I am in the same boat I have been with out a running/driving DSM since 2005. And I have 3 in the drive way!! Well one is about to go the scrap yard and going to part another to fix my spyder and make it an AWD.

I definitely know how it goes with the car taking a back seat sometimes, especially since it's a hobby. You either have money when the overtime is flowing, or time when it's not. My car had all of 10 minutes run time this year, just when I fired it up after converting it to e85 and one quick spin out of the neighborhood. I've just been too busy either working or working on projects around the house to really spend a lot of time on it this year.

Exhaust components are cleaned, blasted, and ready for coating. I'll be shipping them off within the next 2 days to Carlos @ Tirado Custom Coatings. I'm very excited to see how it all turns out.

Well after you send it to Carlos, you can send it to me LOL. But really this is awesome, we usually see people going from two turbos to one not the other way around. I am pumped to hear all about the spool times and top end power. Great work I wish I could weld, or had anything to weld for that matter.

hahaha that's some doctor suess looking stuff!

glad to see progress. hang it up art/motivation.

I only read up to page 5 when it wouldn't let me read on any further. But what is happening with the exhaust gas coming from the first turbo?
Couldn't it be fed into the second turbos exhaust stream? Or does the second turbo have enough exhaust flow as it is?

Any numbers on this yet? Have this page bookmarked waitin to see what this is gonna put down!

im waiting patiently, too see more compound prOn... The more i keep reading up on other compund setups, the more im wanting to try one out also... If i do go this route I think ill try a tc feeding air to a sc. It seems to be a popular way for the v8 crowd

Paul is just waiting on me to send his stuff back from being ceramic coated, everything will be shipped out this week.
I apologize again for taking longer than I said Paul, but hopefully you'll be blown away once you have everything back.

I'll be posting pictures later today of everything completed.

All parts are now completed, enjoy the pics :thumb:
