I will be Posting Pictures very soon and will be updating project on a normal basis. currently are in the process of removing the 6 bolt out of the car to put in the almost finished built 6 bolt. I'm looking to have the car finished by the end of february and will be running the car at the 18th Annual DSM/EVO Shootout At Buschur racing also plan on putting the car on the Dyno. Wish me luck and any input will be helpful.

sounds like it s going to be an awesome build!!! i would go with an hx40 if u want to get close to 600hp and a set of forged rods so u dont have any worries about one letting loose! just a suggestion
 
yah I have been thinking about getting a HX40 with a Pro wheel and the t3 housing with a t3 manifold. and a 44mm tial, I guess if someone bought my BEP housing and HX35 and 38mm tial for what i got it for i would change the setup but thats the least of my worries I will be testing this car all spring so i will have plenty of time before the shootout Dyno run to swap to a hx40 PRO. I also took Pauls suggestion and called street and strip and got a great price and Idea on what kind of cage to get thanks Paul.

Stripped the head, Hot tanked it, finished the Rods and got a few goodies in the mail. here are some pics.

Just tossing out another reference for a cage builder, Jamieson Fabrications. They are right off of M43 when you are coming from Plainwell to Richland.

Owner's name is Andrew, and his shop does an awesome job. He's certified to do NHRA, IHRA, and SCCA. They do a lot of custom tube chassis cars for some high end customers. Just had dinner with him last night, lots of cool projects go through his doors.

thanks for the refrence i will be sure to give him a call. Also another quick question what does my cage have to be rated for. im new to the cage stuff and i dont even know where to begin. I have talked to a few people and got a few Ideas. Im leaning to a 10Pt cage just need to figure out what i need to get it certified as. I plan on running at Martin a lot and the shoot out.
 
Well there was little progress made this weekend on the build. I basically got everything stripped out of the GSX and ready for the roll cage to go in here in the next week or two. sry these pic dont show a lot.

If you don't plan to run any quicker than 10.00, then just stick with an 8-point similar to the one in my 1G. PIC1 PIC2
I'd also recommend chromoly tubing over mild steel due to the great difference in weight.
 
I doubt ill run anything even close to a 10.0. I was jsut unsure of the requirements at the track. But yes I paln on doing a chromly cage and will probably end up going with a 8pt. thanks for the help 99gst racer.

Just ordered my punishment racing O2 housing. Also I am not sure if I should get tokico HP shocks and struts or KYB GR-II's any idea's?
 
Just ordered my 8 pt chromoly roll cage from BD racing. should be here next week. :) Also if any one has any rear lsd axle cups and LSD rear end LMK thanks.
 
Yes, this IS a nice build. You should put it in a blog where you can organize it more. It will really help everyone when referencing and also having more concise access to details needed for others when researching.

You should be looking at the stock housing 7blade hx35 for 600whp, but the bolton 8blade can do 11s all day long. So you really have 2 separate goals there. . . The bolton hx40 will give you that 600whp number too. And put you in the 10s as proven. But if you're going t3 (good for uprading later a t3 hx40 is a 700whp turbo), I'd look at the 7blade hx35 with the stock hx35 housing and an open (non-divided) manifold. WAY MORE than enough for your 11second goal and probably a little easier to find than the hx40 pro.
 
Ya he has yet to update this yet but his hx35 set up is for sale and he is in the market for a hx40...

this week i will finish polishing the head and i will hopefully finish my short block.

Also I am sending all my parts and intercooler pipes and brackets and what not to jeff powder-coating to get my parts powder-coated and ceramic coated.

we managed to pull the motor in 3 hrs with no power tools and a 24 pack of bud light :)

well progress has slowed down hte past week i have been super busy with school. progress that has been made is I switched my piston setup from .20 over 2g NPR to .20 Evo 9 pistons. I just bought a LSD rear end and I bought a VIS stock Carbon fiber hood and a new set of 18 inch rims and new tires, and a 8000k HID kit, I also sent out all my parts to get powder coated cant wait to see them :) . unfortunately I will not be working on the car this weekend but will e installing the roll cage the next weekend. I will post pics of the roll cage instal and my new rims and tires and CF hood and my lsd rear end swap. unfortunately I still need some LSD axle cups so if anyone has any let me know thanks
 
recently just got my delta regrind 274 racing cams in and let me tell you these things are sweet :) ill post pics tonight. I also just got my HKS SSQV BOV in the mail i went with the limited edition black to match my color scheme. Also I will be posting pics of the CAGE intsal thise weekend cant wait. Also will be installing my CF VIS hood and my new 18's LOL. I also have to start on my rear LSD swap and probably remove all the suspension for my new shocks and struts (still undecided on TOKICKO ILLUMINAS or the KYB AGX). cant wait till this thing is finished pics coming :)

Well a lot of progress was made this weekend. I got the car to its new home for the next couple of weeks for the cage instal. I also got started on the full interior wire tuck. I put my new rims and tires on but they are coming off to get powder-coated. I pre fit the cage and everything was pretty much perfect. I am planing on working on it this coming up saturday and finish up the roll cage and rear end swap along with my new shocks struts and brake setup. Then hopefully be putting the motor in in the next 2 weeks.

So here is the progress that was made today :) almost done with the cage I got the CF hood put on and mounted up looks great :) also messed around with the rims cant wait to see them when there tied in with the car. LMK what you think. motor will be going in this next weekend and roll cage will be getting finished along with racing seats put in.

yah cant wait kinda going after a Ken Block look white rims with yellow spoke but im doing black and pink and im doing a DC logo in it or MITSU undecided LOL.
