Your best bet is going to be start out at say 15lbs or so of boost, then work your way up until you get to say 25 max. This also depends on the rest of your setup. What fuel system modifications do you have done?
I litterally justed.
But seriously!? That much boost?
I was thinking, more like 15?
, i thought it was funny, i know 12 isnt much, but on the stock fuel system it still pulls harder than my neighbors 14b did on his completely stock tsiUpgrading to the turbo, you should also have a bigger set of injectors, an adjustable fuel pressure regulator, and preferably a 255lph fuel pump. One thing you dont want to do is starve your motor for fuel. Detonation is your worst enemy.
Does tuning come into play when raising your boost?
Absolutely... i mean a stock tune will be ok upto maybe 14-15psi, but to be completely save you should push it too much! Some people to tend to run higher, 18-20psi on stock system and tune, but i think that pushing it a bit! You don't want to starve you motor from fuel, you will end up melting a piston or something! and you want to tune to try and stay far from knock, because pre-detonation will destroy your motor.
So again, yes tuning comes into play when you raise the boost!
Did you drop a 5.0 in that beast?it's my excuse to buy a evo III big 16g, and some headers.

Whats the max boost someone has run on the stock 2g pistons with 1g big rods on race gas or meth?
