Hi. I have 1992 1g Eclipse DOHC non turbo, and I live in Europe so I don't find parts so easily.

I bought Hyundai Elantra timing tensioner, because if I bought the right one from USA it would have cost 300 Euros. The one I bought it's OEM number is the same as Eclipse's but the part is for Elantras. But the problem is the tensioner is exactly same as the old one, but the grenade pin hole is higher on the piston. So the piston in the old one is out 4mm when the grenade pin is in and in the new one its 1mm.

In the official timing belt tension guide the piston should be 4mm out (grenade pin moves freely). but because mine grenade pin hole is higher on the piston, the piston is 1mm when it moves freely. Right now I have put the new tensioner in 4mm gap. Should I tighten the belt like the gap is 1mm and grenade pin moves freely or 4mm gap and grenade pin doesn't align.

Thanks in advance for the help.
