GT35R vs BEP S(258-366)

The S362 has made 680whp it was pretty much maxed out at that point. So rating it at 65lbs/min is conservative.

If you are going to go for a 35R go for the FP HTA GT3582R, 1000rpm quicker spool, and more torque/hp compared to a stock GT35R.

I just bought one for my 2.4L auto car, I don't have the car back together yet to give any reviews but everything I've read from everyone has been possitive.

I just find cost to this turbo a huge down side. There are alternatives for less.. that do just as well...

The BW T3 housings with the correct turbine wheel. Will support over 700whp. How much more do you need?

Oh ok, I have just heard many other people posting in other threads saying you should always go T4 if you get a big turbo because it spools better.

The major reasons for going to a smaller T4 vs. a larger T3 is that it opens up more, usable, turbine housing options for you and lets you have a V-band discharge. To quantify the usable part--most people with bigger turbos are not looking at the .63 A/R and below T3 turbine housings. If you've got a .82 and need bigger all you can do is go with the 1.06 (unless there are custom castings that are bigger).

In the same situation with a .58 T4, you have a lot more options.

The .70AR T3 housing I have IS a V-Band discharge. I chose it because this car sees the track only once n awhile, and mainly is just to have fun around town in. I wanted a good medium between flow capabiliy, and spool time. Choking it out with a mitsu housing was never an option for me. So this I felt met what I was looking for very well.

folks, keep in mind one of the most important factors in a turbo..... longevity.

These borg warner turbos are no joke! They are designed to withstand a whole hell of a lot more than we could throw at them.

finished Pic - just have to fix my trans leak and my power steering leak and she'll be ready to drive.

What cost range are you finding for the BWs362 and where?

I'm running an S258 and I cannot disclose how much I paid for it because I had a previous arrangement with David @ BEP due to a warranty on my Vtrim and a few other reasons.

S362 wise - Contact Marti @ VIP garage... he'll be able to direct you towards a good price I'm sure.

Just looking around Slowboy sells S300s for $1450. That right there is 300+ less than the HTA and it performs just as well and the center section will take more abuse than the Ball bearings will.

I'm also sure you could find them for $1350-1400 with the right attitude/person.

So you guys are saying that a s36x series will spool just as fast as or even better than lets say the FP t4z HTA88 and will even make more power and a lot more torque?

I can't say how they'll perform. I've never used either.

What I'm saying is by comparing flow #s and compressor maps etc, they should perform SIMILARLY and the S300 costs $300-400 less.

absolutely, and I am always more than happy to answer any questions. Feel free to give me a shout at the shop if you like.

Base 362s should be in the 12-1300 range, to go t4 vband adds 150. The t4 is a 366s turbine housing and requires a special vband, which I'm still trying to figure out what exactly that is (john deere).
