Hi community I love my Mitsubishi cars!!! So here it goes.

They discontinued the oil filter housing for the 4g63t engines. They do have a front facing Mighty Max one available on STM Tuned website. Why are there sensor ports missing?

I know you have to remove the coolant thermal heat exchanger and loop it back. What size is the one port for the turbo line? Is it necessary to add an oil cooler as well?

I just want to do things right and it's tricky when they don't offer the OEM parts anymore for these great cars.

I checked for your part number MD199775 on Amayama.
They show it as: availability, more than 1, and Delivery by March 25.
Amayama is a very honorable place. They aren't going to rip you off. But what happens sometimes when you order something like this is they will hold up the order for a couple days while they re-check the availability, or they might tell you that they actually can't get it.

I ordered a new oil filter housing for my 1990 in 2023 and it came fine, brand new and spotless in a genuine Mitsubishi box.
That one is the one people use if they want to install an external (air cooled) oil cooler anyway.
Here's the link to that one - MD132912
They show that one as available too, same delivery time.
I paid with PayPal.
I don't know the pluses and minuses of this 1990 type housing on the 2g's so you'd have to check that out with somebody I guess. Simplest would be if they just have the MD199775 like your original.

When I ordered mine in 2023 I didn't inquire first, I just went ahead and ordered it and waited to see what would happen.
I'm trying to reconstruct what happened from my old emails. It went fine but it's a little unusual because the first email I got from them says "Your order has been created. Our friendly staff will check it and send payment instructions. Use this link to drop us a line."
I got the payment instructions 3 days later, "Your order is ready for payment".
But in that email the shipping charge was all of a sudden up from the estimated $30 to $60.
So I replied to the email: "I was surprised to see the shipping changed from UPS to EMS with no explanation given. Can you change the shipping back to UPS? It was about $30 less!"
They replied the next day saying: "Apologies, the shipping method change was caused by an error. Your shipping has been updated to UPS at 46.23 USD".
And then a nice explanation of how the mistake happened.
Then 6 hours later I got an email that said my order had been accepted and that they should receive it from the supplier in 2 days. It actually took 5 days. They sent me another email when they got it. They shipped it to me that same day.
And I got it delivered to my house 2 days (not a typo - two days) after that. Yikes. Obviously it wasn't held up in customs or anything like that. I don't know how that part of it will go now in 2026.

Another way to do it might be to inquire first. I don't know how that would go.
If you inquired, they might be able to give you a best guess at what happens to it once it gets to the USA now.
I like Amayama. Good place.

the minus is it doesnt fit. Thats a 6 bolt part. If you've swapped then sure it works and you can use a big aftermarket cooler.

MD199775 is the 2G housing, which @We're on Boost mentioned clearly to begin his post that Amayama shows some stock available.

I’m pretty sure the talk of MD132912 was anecdotal for the experience of using Amayama.

@JamesonMarze98GSX - used filter housings are a still very available.

I have to admit I'm curious. I bought a new 6 bolt housing awhile back and paid more that whats posted. Wondering why Amamaya has stuff when nobody else does.
