GI: Carbon/Kevlar/Fiberglass parts

Headed out today to, according to yellowpages.com, a local fiberglass and autobody supply store. I'm trying to locate a good place local for the basic fiberglass supplies, body filler, auto paint, mold making supplies, and more...wish me luck as this could potentially get a mold for the upper and lower covers, along with the subaru (02-05 model???) alternator covers done! After that, its simply time to knock out 1 of each so I can get a group buy together for them all!

Ok...I've acquired a good amount of what I need, but I need a VERY good condition upper and lower 6 bolt cover. I do not have a 6 bolt, and my upper cover is bowed away from the timing belt. I'm going to try to fix this tonight with heat, but if this doesn't work, is there anyone out there with a good upper and lower cover that they would be willing to donate and I can either compensate financially or with a discount towards the purchase of the carbon covers? Thanks all!

For the person who can come up with a great quality timing cover for me to use, I will either purchase it off of them or I can sell the carbon covers to that individual at very close to cost. Thanks!

Ok guys, I have had a VERY difficult decision to make over the past few days, and I do not enjoy this. I recently moved to North Augusta, SC to open a shop and to race. Unfortunately, I was unable to get a job until recently and lived on my funding longer than I wanted to, and no longer have the funding to do both. I have to do one or the other, and with my current job, I wont be able to fund the truck without the business. I have decided to sell the truck, which I really dont want to do, in order to fund the shop. By selling I can acquire everything I need to get the carbon fiber and possibly powder coating supplies and an auto 1g. I'm not looking to get a ton out of it because I know I'm not going to..its not how it works on one of these projects. But if there is anyone on here who is interested, shoot me a PM and we can talk about it. It'll have everything shown except the ECU/ostrich and the turbo may be swapped out for the evo 8 turbo. The trans has a fresh BM rebuild with shift kit, and everything else is listed. If you have any questions, PM me, but the truck is still in Rustburg, VA, but may get towed down to North Augusta, SC for a part out over the next few weeks.

hey Schroder, I've been reading and reading for days from "Products the DSM crowd would like to see made" all the way to this one and wow, I felt like i was gonna miss out on the carbon fibers parts your making, i just wanna say that I would Very much love to have the Carbon fiber Sunroof Plug and the Timing cover idea, 1Ga Hood, 1ga Hatch, and 1ga Lip and rear diffuser, and the carbon wrapped 3 piece spoiler for us, and pretty much anything carbon fiber available for 1g's. I will be more than happy to help in any way if i can to keep up what great progress you've been making with all of this. i have a 1991 Eclipse GSX and a 1990 Eclipse GST btw. Goodluck man, I really hope you continue to pursue these parts, because I will buy ALL of them FOR SURE X2. im Positive i can get another 6 or 7 people from other forums that would buy these parts aswell.

I believe there is already a carbon hatch and hood out, and as I've said before, those are both a little larger than what I am looking to take on. Even if I do them, I dont know that I can drop them below what seibon/vis charge, and there's no way I can compete with the china models.

What I AM going to do for the 1ga guys are the carbon pop up covers. I'm looking at making the full part so that the carbon hoods flow all the way down to the skinny lights. As soon as I am set up, which I hope to be in the next month due to set backs, I will let you guys know and start popping some of these parts out. I REALLY apologize for the delay, but getting a full shop setup along with relocating to another state is very difficult to do...hence the sale of my project (that took me over a year to get it to where it is). Thank you all for your continued interest, and I WILL be bringing these parts for you all.

I actually sent two different emails regarding quotes to your vendorship email addy with no response at all. Since I am basically making the parts out of my home and storage unit, I should fall under the guidelines of supporting freelancer, correct? It is not my main source of income by ANY means, although I do hope I can turn it into a full blown shop at some point. Once I have all the pieces in place, I was looking to pay the money for that and then actually start to sell them. I wasn't trying to dance on a line by any means at all, and I apologize if it ever came across as such. I was booted off of another forum for "trolling" because I was posting about it, even though the parts weren't yet for sale, and I wasn't even set up to make them. I appreciate you letting the thread ride, and again, I apologize for dancing on the line. I've been here for over 3 years I think now, and I dont think I've ever had a thread shut down for violating the rules.

Well, seibon doesnt have shit for 1ga's and visracing only has hoods for 1gb's and up. and i dont even know anyhting about any chinese made ones, but man i really wish you can make these later on, after you make a few small things. I've been wanting a 1ga carbon fiber hood and a 1g carbon hatch for like 5 years now. im in the marines so i keep on missing out on these freakin lil 3 or 4 month sales that people do on here every once in a great while. but i just wish that someone could let me know when these things happen so i can get in on these limited production pieces, ya know. anyways yeah man hopefully you eventually make this big pieces, because i still want all the other things in carbon like the sunroof plug/rear diffuser/1ga lip, doors, timing cover, and even that little oem 3 piece spoiler idea, i like that one haha. oh and also, i dont care if you wouldnt be able to drop the price from what others may have had. i WILL still buy it from you man. It Seems like all the 2g guys get all the good shit, Show some 1g love for all us 1g guys out there buddy! because god knows we need the parts.

The goal is to bring alot of parts/wrapping services to multiple communities, with the DSM crowd becoming more and more prevalent. I'm not going to go into too much more detail until I get everything squared up with Chris, but know the DSM crowd, especially 1gs, weigh heavy for me

Sunroof plugs for the 1g's and 2gs are on the list. I need to look at both to determine if I'm going with a functioning sunroof. I know people want both, but it depends on difficulty to make/seal with the functioning one.

The truck is down, and I've made a good amount of money so far. I'm waiting on a few transactions to clear to my bank account, and I have a few bills to take care of first. Once everything is out of the way I'll be ordering my supplies and possibly getting a few powder coating items to start for small pieces...valve covers, bolts, brakes, rotors, etc.

Might be Easier to make them to seal and not be functional. thats what i want for mine to be anyways, so hopefully you get more people that want that to so it makes it easy for you. unless you wanna make both functional and non functional but that would be ALOT of work just for the subjects of sunroofs, you have so much work ahead of you man haha. as long as everyone puts their money where their mouth is you should be good.

what are these "slim light" covers your talking about? I dont think i've ever heard about or seen these.

its just snap on covers to "black out" the parking lights{or as i call them...slim lights .} i think VIS made them...but like i said, almost impossible to find now.
