Resolved FWD 1G Fuel pump sending unit screw size

Didn't see it in the what size is this bolt screw list

Needing to know the size of the bolts that hold the fuel pump sending unit in. Somehow i misplaced them all and they seem to be an odd size because I can't get any other bolts to start threading in to measure the thread pitch. Even if someone knows the pitch I can figure out the length. 1991 FWD

I dont think ACE Hardware would think too much of me dragging the whole tank in their store smellin like gas just to buy 50 cents of screws but not sure what else to do

Do you mean the phillips screws with a lock and a flat washer? If so, try M5x0.8x10mm screw.

Yeah they were Phillips head with a lock washer but 10mm is a little longer than the ones I took out were. The one I took out were super short like maybe 4-6mm I think. Photo of the sending unit the screws screw in to.

Ended up getting some M5x0.8x10mm and some M5x0.8x8mm I had to add an extra washer to the 8mm so they wouldn't bottom out so M5x0.8x6 or 7mm would probably be the perfect size but didn't feel like running back to the hardware store and spacing them seems to have worked as I have no leaks.

When we run into issues like this, we will buy a couple NUTS for the bolts, put them on the bolt and then cut the bolt to size with a dremel cutoff wheel, rounding the tip at a grinding wheel and then remove the nut to clean the threads.
Just something to think about anytime this happens (and it happens more than you think). Plus, we customize everything here so its something we do a lot.
