1G 1g fuel sending unit help!

i have a 1990 talon tsi awd, and my gas gauge doesn't work. luckily i think i found the problem. can anyone tell me where this wire is supposed to be connected? the wire is green and i lined it in green and circled the disconnected end in red

dude that helped tremendously, thanks!!! my little metal box thing wasn't even screwed on the top haha it was hanging down with the float. no wonder it was so hard to get out of the tank!
