So i need to pass SMOG and i think my low compression is screwing me over, i was just thinking of using the Engine Restore can just to raise the compression enough to help me pass the test.

Are their any users? Cons/Pros?

I have used it for every oil change, it quiets my lifter tick a good amount but as far as helping you pass inspection I have no clue.

Yes, I have all emissions.
I failed and the tech told me it might be low compression.

The last time I went was a year ago which was

1. 145
2.135
3.90
4.135

This is a decent how to video on how to use it.
This dude over does it though.
I usually buy 1 bottle, and put a 1/4 bottle in the oil,1/4 in the gas, 1/2 bottle through the vacuum line.
I'm not saying it will fix your compression or anything like that.
But it should make it run cleaner and smoother.
YouTube - ‪How To Seafoam Your Vehicle‬‏

Neither seafoam nor engine restore will raise your compression. Seafoam will clean the engine out, but more than likely you'll still fail smog.

In my personal experience with engine restore- I bought my talon with 110 compression across the board, figured since I was rebuilding my motor it wouldn't hurt to try it. Did a compression test after the engine restore and compression was 100 across the board. Can't say it was the engine restore that caused it, but in my case it definitely didn't help anything.

How exactly do you get the seafoam in the vacuum lines?
What line did you tap?

Pull the vacuum line going to the brake booster, the other end leads to the intake.
And of course it can't raise your compression.
But I've seen it do wonders, we have smog here too.

Honestly you should figure out the real problem and get it fixed.
But I know how it can be when your just trying to get by.
Until you have time or money to fix it right.

My problem are the rings, they are shot.

I just need me some pistons and bearings to finish all the parts but then save up for the machine labor.

I have to pass smog ### I got reffed :(

I finally added SeaFoam I couldn't pull the vacuum line for shit.
So I just added it to the oil and the gas.

But no black smoke :(
Is it due to not putting it through the vacuum lines?

"psst" - change your oil right before you do a sniff test.. it's amazing how that works since the old oil is so full of hydrocarbons and other junk that get's pulled up in the intake system via the PCV system and heads out to the exhaust..and since you got that one weak cylinder....raises all sorts of hell with the sniff test ...

Leave that "SeaFoam", "Engine Restore" and other stuff out of the motor..

Don't do band-aid's. Judging by your compression test results, a rebuild may be in order. My car is a 95 that I bought bone stock with 63k. Compression test when I bought it yielded me the same results as they do now at 179 to 180 across the board. Maintenance goes a long way. As far as your problem, I would try what DSM1g90 suggested. If you'd like to go one step further, change the oil and run the hell out of it and then change it again(while hot)right before emissions. If you just get the gas cap sniffer, buy a new one and keep it handy just for inspection time. Good luck.

I get the muffler sniffer as well.

And i know about my compression, ill be tearing down the block late this summer. I just need a "band aid" to raise my compression to help me pass the stupid SMOG test.

No additive in the world will bring your compression up that much. But I would buy some throttle body cleaner and spray on the plate and inside the intake manifold. I do not recommend pouring sea foam into a vacuum line like in the video; you should do it very slowly. If you can get the brake booster line off that's a good place to do it as its right after the throttle plate, but also at the pvc line is good as this leads to all the intake runners. Then change the oil. You may want to inspect plugs and wires also.

I'm not hoping for it to bring it that high, just high enough to pass the sniffer test.
I'm doing an oil change tomorrow since my appnt is Thursday in the morning.
I'll check the plugs while I'm at it.

Seafoam would definatly be your best bet, but as far as low compression goes theres not really an additive for that. Your gonna need a rebuild
