We typically run at Atco. Sometimes we hit Maple Grove or Cecil County if Atco has an event going on.

Quick updates....front end all done and painted. Still need to make the aluminum intake duct and pipe as well as install the new fuel system and reassemble the body panels up front. Hopefully hitting the dyno later this month....

Both, actually :)

I've seen a few of these tubular setups but have yet to see what goes into making one. I guess it amazes me since I know very little about tube bending and alignment when it comes to thinks like headlights, radiator, mounting tabs, etc.

It's a good amount of work (I have about 18-20 hours into it) but not that hard if you can weld and have some smarts. Think through it first and plan out what you're going to do. The upper piece just needs to pass near where each mounting point on the front end is and from there you can do as you like to make it look good. I used all the lights up front and the hood line as reference points when it came to making the mounting tabs. As for the actually bending, a tubing bender makes things a LOT easier but a vice and hammer can make it happen to (along with some heat). As for the lower, I used a hydraulic roll bar bender. Two 90* bends with a 38.25" center line is the base for that piece. Again from there I just made my mounts for each piece. Using the upper as a reference for the pieces made it pretty easy to locate the lower mounts.

Like I said, it's not "hard". Just takes time and thought (and the ability to weld...LOL)

I don't have time, ability to weld, or any of the necessary tools, but it'll be helpful for if/when I ever get around to it. Have to check what my rulebooks allow first for sure.

Thanks for the info.

No problem. I'm pretty sure chassis mods like that will put you in SM but it's been a while.

I think that'd push me past SM. But I'm already at SM because of the small 16g (or further because of other things - haven't checked recently). I was more concerned about the NASA rules and how that'd work for time trails. I can't do something that'll push me into the unlimited class!

Not much of an update. Got most of my fuel order in....cloth braided -8 line and black fittings, pre and post filters, and a Magnafuel 4301 pump. My FIC rail and 2150s should be arriving on Monday....that's pretty much all that needs to be installed to get it up and running. Also got my bumper shutters in from Boostin Performance today. Hoping to have things wrapped up some time next week depending on my schedule.

A few updates....

Need thank Jens and Bryan at Fuel Injector Clinic for some new goodies. FIC 2150s and anodized rail are on now.

Also finished up the bumper quick disconnects...yes, I know the bumper is filthy. LOL! Hoping to get the car painted soon.

Quick addition to the list of things to do. Duct work for the intercooler. Going to transfer this template to some aluminum sheet and it should look seamless once complete.

Thanks!

I can't wait to finish this thing up so I can wash it. Soooooo filthy.

...still need to trim the exhaust up. Sticks out a bit more with the new turbine housing. Also, if you look close, I finished adding on the intercooler ducts and have them attached the Boostin' Performance bumper shutters.

I really like the intercooler duct addition Chris! That was the only thing I did not like about the shutters being able to see the "smiley face" behind them. Looks very nice!

Thanks Jason. I can't say I was perfectly happy with them when they arrived either. The ducting definitely helped though. I still may modify their shape a bit further as well. We'll see I guess.

The new fuel system is in now. Ran new -8 lines and mounted up the pump and filters. Just need to redo the wiring for the pump at this point....

Depends on the pump. Some can pull and not have to be gravity fed...like this one. Specifically says in the instructions it can be mounted above the sump height.
