Depends on the pump. Some can pull and not have to be gravity fed...like this one. Specifically says in the instructions it can be mounted above the sump height.
Worst case, i'll move it down.
I have a Magnafuel 750 that's above the sump. No issues with the little bit I've ran it. I called Magnafuel and told them the pump inlet was a couple inches above the sump and they said that was fine and the pump would actually pull like 11" or something crazy!
