That second video was painful to watch. I also want to know what happened that was so bad that it was worth parting the car out and crushing it.

Nothing was wrong with the car, it wasn't wrecked and the drive train was still new, I simply lost my job and priorities come first, so this is what I was willing to do to make ends meet, that's all. :(

That's really a shame you had to destroy a perfectly good DSM. I guess it would probably be worth more to part out, but damn that sucks that you had to do that. Sorry man.

Seriously? You had to crush a car to make ends meet? You know you can just cancel insurace and registration. I hope you took out the motor and everything else.

You would have made a lot more parting it out and then selling the car as a rolling shell.

Did you pull out the full black interior as well?

A built dsm is worth way more in parts. And, it's gets some money fast, and keeps it coming for a while. I guess he should lose everything to keep a car. I'm sure he wouldn't have crushed it if someone offered more than the scrapyard. You guy's have some mixed up priorities. I'd sell anything i have for a roof over my families head, water out of the sink, and food to eat.

I would have given you more then the scrapyard for it.

I've got a dsm, and stealth tt shell. I'll sell you either one for $100, come and get it today. See my point. This guy is going through some financial problems. Money today to keep the lights on, is better than a valuable item in front of the house, with greater worth, but almost zero liquidity.

This video broke my heart. You went from a pristine GST to that hunk of crap and crushed it..WTF

wow cant believe what I just saw. I have been looking a clean shell in the pa and nj for almost a year. There goes one down the tube. All I need was something clean that didnt meet a truck going 45 in the rear end.

just ### you needed to get rid of your dsm doesn't mean you can't be a part of the big dsm family. there will be a point in life for everyone when they realize some things are more important but doesn't mean you can never have an awesome car like that again.

Thanks for your thoughts everyone, Yes I had to do this and it was most certainly parted out, everything minus the doors that silver hood and the two front fenders, the crappy exhaust was not worth a penny, wasnt even made correctly and Yes I LOVED that car and didnt even get to enjoy it, but it was MY car and "MY" sweat, blood, aggrivation, enjoyment and MONEY why I would I sell it whole to some punk kid and get 4500 for it when I most certainly got about 12K so far with all the parts sold off, use common sense, maybe when you guys grow up you will understand, I might put myself back in school with that money or open a small business, cars will always be there and I will never lose my love for the DSM. It was a long thought over process and Ive advertised 5 times, some guys on here can verify that when they asked me 5 times and I kept saying no, im not parting the car out and to the guy who said downsize, I sold my Pristine 2005 jeep Grand Cherokee Limited... sheesh, and banned, this thread was not start an online argument, I think it was more of along the lines of "you did the right thing." If this thread gets out of control, please close it, thanks! I purchased this car from someone who lost his job, I got the car and it was a total nightmare, the car was hacked up, skirts were falling off, bumpers not attached, no engine, trans, axles, bearings falling off, it was wrecked pretty bad at one point although they fixed it, I found this out once I ripped apart the entire car, 1 strut tower I found after removing the paint seemed like it was going to rust out, small dents everywhere (what car doesnt) the door had been repaired, pics always looked better than it was, you could always see the marks where they fixed it, the drivers rear 1/4 was glued back on, the passenger side rockers had 1/2 inch thick bondo, found this out after taking the skirts off. Electrical was all wire tied, engine harness, well I had to replace it because it was so bad, The black leather I got out of a 99GS that I purchased just for the leather, it had a good motor and a bad trans so I parted it and sold my gray leather for $400, the black leather, some guy from michigan purchased from me, parts have been used to other DSMs that were in better condition, sacrifice 1 to help myself and others, thats how I looked at this, things should get better, and thanks to everyone that has been supportive, I know there are millions out there like me, so Im not the only one and thankfully im young enough to have this oppurtunity ultimatly change my entire attitude towards spending money vs priorities and my future, I may put most of the money I got away or use the financial guy my g/fs dad uses to make the proper investments, there are a lot of things that I can do, dont get me wrong, I for sure saved for a cushion if something like this happend, Im glad I did and now I have more to add to this and do something else with it. I will try to stay active in this forum as it has been a major part in my life over the past two years, I did more reading and debating than posting, btw, I sold my 05 Jeep, 02 CBRf4i600 and now my eclipse, CBR and Eclipse paid cash, Jeep was lucky enough to find a buyer so quick. The pics of the Eclipse from the original owner back in 06, He personally wrecked it twice and went through 3 engines, the body of the car had 79 when it was crushed so you tell me how it was treated, I personally drove the car maybe 2500 miles *if that*.... I purchased it and it sad for over a year outside and the pic under the hood, thats what the previous owner did to it, I got it worse than what you see there, everything under there was in the trunk of the car.

The second video of the car getting crashed almost brought tears.

Or maybe it was how it was getting tossed around like a rag doll :hmm:

I wont lie. this video pissed me right off.

wow cant believe what I just saw.

i hope this is a joke

The second video of the car getting crashed almost brought tears.

What is all this crap? It's his car he can do whatever he wants with it, if he came out on top in the end then props to him.

The problem is half of the members on here still live at home or are single and don't have any real responsibilities.

You all sound like a bunch of little girls whining. One day you'll realize that a built car is nothing but an expensive toy, I hold no sentimental value to my car at all. There's always something better and badder on the road, and to consider a dsm being crushed "tragic" or "sad" is dumb, it's not like he crushed a viper or a vette, or any other "real" car for that matter.

Yeah our cars can be made fast for cheap, but they're still just POS's compared to driving a new m3 or zr1, you guys need to get over your big headed "dsm's are the best cars ever" mentality. Family and people are always worth more than a toy.
