After the past two years of hard work my project ended in the worst way.. I just thought I would like to share with everyone and say goodbye for a while so I can try to get back on my feet after a job loss, So long guys but I may be around for a little while longer until everything is sold off...

What is all this crap? It's his car he can do whatever he wants with it, if he came out on top in the end then props to him.

The problem is half of the members on here still live at home or are single and don't have any real responsibilities.

You all sound like a bunch of little girls whining. One day you'll realize that a built car is nothing but an expensive toy, I hold no sentimental value to my car at all. There's always something better and badder on the road, and to consider a dsm being crushed "tragic" or "sad" is dumb, it's not like he crushed a viper or a vette, or any other "real" car for that matter.

Yeah our cars can be made fast for cheap, but they're still just POS's compared to driving a new m3 or zr1, you guys need to get over your big headed "dsm's are the best cars ever" mentality. Family and people are always worth more than a toy.

i understand real responsibilites i own my home have two car payments and 2 gsx s. i by no means have the kind of money to throw at my cars. my 1g has been sitting for 4yrs waiting. just sad to see what appeared to be a clean 2g get crushed thats all.

op if it was your last resort then im sure it was not a easy decision to make. but you have to have your priorities in life cars come and go.

This is probably the saddest thing I've ever seen, I can't even imagine doing that to any of my cars even if they were a POS.. People may have responsibilities but the second video was pretty brutal.. This forum is for people who have a true passion for DSM's, everyone knows there are MANY better and fasters cars on the road but its the fact that they are hard to come by now and were VERY ahead of their time back in the day. Not a lot of people can say that about their cars.. You could have atleast left out the video.. But I do understand bills are bills.

Agreed. There are more cars in the world, and the OP is young; he will have another one someday. It sounds like he had more than a small financial problem that couldn't be solved by saving a few bucks a month. Been there done that. You have to do what you have to do to keep food on the table and a roof over your head.

I love DSM's as much as the next guy, but if it means not paying bills and being financially mature, then the DSM is gone without thinking twice.

I know what yo are going tough I had to sell of several vehicles just to make ends meet had to sell off my 99 Eddie Bouer edition expedition I got from my father, then my 05 Kawasaki zx12 with only 2100 miles I bought it with 870 miles on it. Also had to sell the only drive able dsm my I have had since 2005 Had it on the road for 2 weeks never even registered it to dive it. I did have 2 others in the driveway at the time. I sent one of the others to the scrap yard and traded off as many parts as I could.

I now have 3 dsm again picked two up for $650 (only 350 out of pocket the rest was labor) . One must get scraped the other I must sell to help complete my awd swap.

Also had to trade off my BMW 530i for $1000 but that was trade in for a 07 Camry Hybrid. That bmw was more of a money pit than any dsm I have ever owned F**** BMWS

Children children, everyone has their own opinions as to how this video made them feel, to me it was a bad judgement call, I agree with the parting it out and keeping the shell rather than crushing it, its hard enough to find a 2g thats in that good of shape... However on the same token, you could have just as easily sold it how it was for a few hundred, the junk yard couldn't have given you too much... Now for the two up there arguing, can't you see that this poor fellow dsmer has had a travisty? Can we not get along for more than one post to feel bad for the guy? Luckily someone basically took me under his wing and saved me from completely dipping on dsms.

Good post, I said it was sad because when I saw the DSM being torn apart in the video I just thought of my DSM and all the blood, sweat, tears, and work I've gone through to make it what it is today and how someone could easily just let that go and then video tape it and post it on a forum.

listen, you have no idea how bad it was for me to do that, I have seriously lost thousands of dollars, and I mean that, I lost two years of my life and why? because "I had to." Do you really think I enjoyed that or even for a minute thought it was funny? no why in the world do you have to post on every single thread something rebellious or completely rude, it was my choice and if you dont agree, just dont post a comment, its that simple, You dsm pizza delivery man, seem to cause a lot of trouble, stir the beans, or whatever. I think you need to appologize or just forget about posting anything else on MY thread. Thanks again everyone who try to keep this in line as it was a much needed posting for me to help with this loss, and btw I tried to sell the shell, but in order to minimize the loss of thousands I needed to rip it apart. sold the bumpers for 475 or something, headlights 95, hood for like 65, interior for a good penny, so when every penny matters, "you gotta do what you gotta do."

Cool thing is, its a forum where you post your opinions which I will do. I never said I had a problem with you getting rid of your DSM, but the fact that you posted a video of a clean car gettin shredded on a forum where people LOVE these cars was dumb on your part.
